This story reminded me of some of the locales where I grew up.  At the same time, it reminded me of some of the good deeds neighbors did for each other when times could be hard.  Neighbors helping neighbors, welcoming folks to a rural "neighborhood," where homes might be 1000 feet apart or one or two miles apart.

Very believable story, and it could have easily happened that way.  Caring and concern wrapped up in a very good story.

Not a long story, but stuffed full like a Christmas stocking filled with goodwill, love and the true spirit of Christmas.  I'm bookmarking this to read again next Christmas. ❤️
