Drew's Prompts - 3. Mac's Task

@MacGreg gave me an assignment yesterday: find a song that really moves me, and dance to it- focusing on what the music is doing to me. Then, write my experience down.

My mind is a scattered mess,

My body moves in awkwardness.

But then, my ears latch on

To the notes and beats of the song.

My mind is in the here and now,

My body- rhythm found.

My mind and body are now in sync,

The song and dance, their link.

Both were once erratic,

But now, they're almost... erotic.

Again, I get stuck on mindfulness. I love dancing and your poem beautifully links it to one of the other things I enjoy... Ehum... But I think you're on to something here. That letting go, the surrender to something else and letting it guide you even if you start out feeling awkward and uncomfortable. I so enjoy surrender... Good job, Drew!

Thank you Puppi! :D Trying to find the words was surprisingly difficult, but it was oh so satisfying to finally complete it!

It's hard to get past that initial awkwardness, even if you're alone, but once it does your mind can let go. Very well descibed, Drew

The awkwardness, even alone... It's like someone is still watching you. :o I'm just happy that I was able to let go in the end. :D

Thanks Lit!

Great job on this, drew. you listened not only to the music, but to your body and mind, as well. you allowed the rhythm to get inside of you, and you focused on the sensations it produced and how those affected you, and you formed it into this great poem - despite your struggles with it. Concentration works. Now, I trust that you'll dance more often.

Thank you, Sir! And yes, I'll dance more often.
