Hard to imagine a short story of less than 3 thousand words could have such an impact. A fresh take on an issue we all see and know about, yet for those leaders in a place to alleviate some of the harsh realities of life and don't, we see others who do step in to do what they can.

I don't want to give any of the plot away, this story is a gem to be discovered by the reader...What I can say is this You're gonna love Aunt May!!!

A short but very sweet story.  However, it is a sweet story without being "sappy."  That can be hard to manage, but @Mancunian has accomplished the difficult with seeming ease.  (It was probably more difficult than the smoothness and wonderful flow of the story would indicate.)

Some simple acts of caring led to steps of progress.  Well worth reading.

Response from the author:

Thank you for a wonderful review. As you said writing about homelessness is not as easy as it sometimes looks, it can be heartbreaking.

A short but impactful story. Set in the author’s world of hope in the darkness, this is HOPE with capital letters.   We need more Aunt Mays in our world.

very thought-provoking 🤔
