Poem Collection - MythOfHappiness - 15. My Fear

Why are you so scared?

Why does your heart stop when you have to think about any moment that isn’t the next one?

Why do you still convince yourself that love isn’t real

when you see it on the face of every person you’ve ever met?

Why don’t you feel?

What are you afraid of?

You are a fine poet. You distill experience and emotion well; reading your verse is like taking a hit of fire water. That's a great gift

This is a fantastic poem. I love the way you have two lines of fear at the beginning and the end, to tie the whole thing together. And in between, your description of emotion and confusion leaves the reader stirred and unsettled. Excellent.
