Poem Collection - MythOfHappiness - 8. The Beach
I slip away sometime after midnight
No one notices, all too busy talking
And laughing, and drinking
And, judging by the smell coming from the balcony,
Smoking some locals “medicine”
I go down to the beach
And sit in the soft, white sand
And listen to the water
And breathe
The air tastes so strange here
I close my eyes
And begin to breathe with the waves
Meditating next to an ocean
Was always a personal dream of mine
And it was just as relaxing as I had imagined
I sit still and clear my head for some time
Before I hear someone come up
And plop down next to me in the sand
I open my eyes, mildly irritated
And am surprised to see a total stranger
“Hi.” He says
“Uh… hello.”
“I haven’t seen you here before, are you local?
“No. I’m just here for spring break.”
“Me too. My friends are at some party in a condo near here.”
“That’s probably my condo”
“Really? Why are you out here then?”
“I like the water”
He turns to look at the ocean
and the pale moonlight highlights his profile
“It is beautiful”
He says and then
gently lays his hand over mine
Suddenly my heart is thudding
And I feel a shiver up my spine
“So, what’s your name?” He asks
“It’s… Jay” I say
His hand moves up now, onto my thigh
“I’m Dustin. Nice to meet you.”
Where his fingers touch me there is fire and ice
His hand now inches up my thigh
Slow and steady
“Is this ok, Jay?”
I nod wordlessly
And he leans in slow
He kisses me
And this is my first kiss
Ever
And it feels so odd
And so good
And then again
A little a lower
And again
Kissing my neck now
Then my collarbone
I’m terrified
And my cock is throbbing
Almost painfully
And his hand goes under my shirt
And I feel it brush across my scar
And he gently lifts the shirt off me
Tossing it onto a nearby sand dune
And he keeps kissing
Lower and lower
Across my right nipple
And he pushes me back
So that I’m laying on the sand
And I feel him unbutton my jeans
And then there’s a flash of light
And I feel dizzy
And I blink and it’s morning
And somebody’s shining a flashlight in my face
“Hey, there you are!”
“What?”
“You left the party. You must have fallen asleep down here.”
I push myself to my feet
“Damn. I was having a pretty good dream too.”
“Yeah? Who about?” he asks
“Nobody” I say
And Dustin and I head back to the condo
