Poem Collection - MythOfHappiness - 2. Locker Note 1

Your hair

It’s brown

Of course it is,

What a stupid way to start a poem

But still.

I could never get that hair off my mind

Sitting behind you in math

I just wanted to reach out and touch it

Feel its softness

Smell it

I’m a creep

I know

Talking about how I want to smell your hair

You probably think

I’m some insane stalker weirdo

That’s ok,

If you think that.

I kinda am.

Sorry, you should probably just stop reading now

Call the cops or something.

I wouldn’t be mad

Honestly, I’d be relieved.

At least then I wouldn’t have to wonder anymore

Wonder about you

Wonder about me

It’s killing me,

All this wondering

And pining

Over something I clearly can’t have -

You

I’m sorry

I’m so weird

I can’t even talk to you in person

Like a real human would

Instead, I’m writing a goddamn poem

What a terrifyingly creepy and stalker-ish thing to do

Write a poem about how I want to smell your hair

And stick it in your locker

Honestly, I’m not even good at it

I mean, what kinda poem is this?

Just five lines

Of me blathering on

About whatever

Getting off subject

It doesn’t even rhyme

Maybe I should just get to the point

I like you

Alot

And I would really like it

If you liked me too

Sorry about all this

I didn’t mean to be so creepy

And un-poetic

In my mind this was going to be

Some sweet romantic gesture

Instead it’s just thirteen stanzas of nothing

An ugly outpouring of pure nonsense

But I told myself that I would go through with this

So I will

I’ll give it to you

But please,

Please

Can you just do one thing

Before you throw this mess away?

Could you consider it?

How very sweet, not creepy, but then i'm a sucker for simple heartfelt gestures like this one. If someone had given me such a thing, i'd have been over the moon!

It's brilliant. Was this created for one of your stories...?

Like Tim, I would have been over the moon to find this in my locker <3

OMG I'd never be able to do something like that. I'd write the poem, I'd think about doing it, I'd fantasise about what might happen... but, I'd never have the courage. If I found it in my locker I still probably wouldn't be sure it was from you. Wow, that so captures it, perfect words.

Such honest hope and courage. To go through with this was to stick your heart out and risk it smashed. He'll know it was you, who sits behind him in math, so you aren't hiding at all. Wonderful. Would that we all took chances like this... cheers... Gary....

You depict the hope and pain of this situation so perfectly, I cant begin to tell you how much it seems real. And like several others, I would have done more than consider the note....many thanks for this.

I think we've all felt such longing ... wishing for the courage ... terrified of the possibility ... and hoping to find this very thing written about us.
Wonderful.

Wow. You rocked it man. You moved every piece of everyone, here, giving you reviews. I loved the second stanza, even though you criticised yourself as a stalker. I would like to do the same some times too. Touching and smelling thing.

Crazily written out of Heart. Fantastic job. Bravo...
