April Musings - 2. Poetry Prompt 11 - Haiku

Haiku #1

Purring bundle lies

In a puddle of sunlight.

Exhale the day’s cares.

Haiku #2

Reflected sunspot.

Furry warrior strikes quick.

Peacefulness returns.

The prompt: write one or more Haiku based on an animal observation. This can be an inspirational moment, like a snail climbing a mountain, or a peaceful moment, like a dog napping on the grass. Just anything you see from the animal kingdom that makes you pause and reflect. Keep a seasonal word, and maintain three lines of 5-7-5 syllables.

Having had two cats myself, I could really relate to that puddle in the sun and the furry warrior. I had one each!

I have two cats and they alternate between being puddles and warriors. lol I wrote the second one because they like to chase the reflection of the sun off of my laptop. Thanks for the review. :)

I love both of them, but if I had to choose, the second one would be my favorite. Haiku is fun... I like the way it makes me look at things with a different perspective. Cheers... Gary

Thanks, Gary. :) Haiku is fun. I love trying to convey meaning in as few words as possible. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
