Who's ready for a couple of new prompts? Can't believe it's already the last Prompt Me for March. This year just seems to be flying by. Remember, if your prompt response is less than 1,000 words, it can be posted in GA Stories as long as it's part of a collection. Now, let's see what comicfan has for you this week.

"Did anyone survive the accident?"
The fight had been rough on Karl. He was sporting a black eye, scratches and a limp. "Ha ha. Very funny."
Sam sighed and asked, "Want to talk about it?"
"Not really."
Sam grinned and said, "You know you're going to. I'll be insufferable until you do."
Karl shrugged. Then he said, "It was the usual suspects. The seniors on the basketball team got all wound up about something. Before we knew it the freshmen and the sophomores were in our underwear in the showers. Lee Hardin was telling us he was going to find out who the fags were and get them off the team."

“Did anyone survive the accident?” the fat guy in a thick Canada Goose jacket asked finishing one of his burgers. With a tattered baseball cap of the Rochester University football team and stained jeans even baggier than his ‘well-nourished’ legs would require, he was as badly dressed as one suspected a guy to be who was on his fifth McDonalds burger of the day. He observed the scenery with the crashed car, the flashing police lights and several firemen trying to cut open the car door, with the same perverted interest he would watch a mass crash in a NASCAR race: lecherous curiosity with lack of empathy.
The small woman next to him in an expensive mid-length fur coat that revealed her elegantly slim calves and high-heeled Christian Louboutins, wrinkled her nose in disgust. How would any man or woman be able to survive in that Mini? “No,” she stated subdued, realizing her nose had wrinkled for another reason.
“What happened?” He threw one of the wrappers carelessly to the ground.

“Did anyone survive the accident?” The words escaped my lips in a smothered whisper as I leaned against the wall with a loud thud. The music faded away, the lights dimmed, and the fragrant curls of thick smoke froze in eerie shapes before my eyes; the entire world seemed to stop as the answer I was dreading drowned out in the heartbreaking silence on the other end of the line.
“Yes…but they demanded that we get there as…as soon as possible. They don’t know how…how long she…” His voice shattered at this mention. It took him a few seconds to regain the tiniest hint of composure, and when he eventually spoke again, it was in a soft and oddly numb voice. “Listen, just come home, ok? I’ll be waiting in the car.”
“Uh…sure…” was all I could mutter. All I could think of. My heart was pounding fiercely, and the painful knot in my stomach was tight to the point of making me nauseous, but my mind was impassive, unable to process what just hit me. I stood up and started heading toward the door when a hand landed on my shoulder.
