It was actually an anime/manga forum site that happened to have a hidden adult section. Anyway, there was a group of avid One Piece fans. I managed to piss one of them off, so I became a target of theirs. It was rather unpleasant. The staff does little about these fucking assholes. One of these days, when I have the knowledge and resources, I want to start an anime/manga site of my own if Masashi Kishimoto's next series is as popular as Naruto was. I definitely won't tolerate that kind of bullshit, and I will have a T&A section.

I read, write, and watch porn. I haven't written any for a while though. My next series requires some research though, and I actually need to buy a couple of physical books for in depth research source material, maybe 3. Since I'm covering Norse, Greek, and Japanese folklore, it's a lot to cover, but when you want Greek gods, Norse gods, dark elves, kitsunes, light elves, dwarves, etc. there's a lot of ground to cover.

I took a junior or senior level course on Japanese Folklore at UF.  These were the required readings (may have been others, but I can't remember):

Japanese Tales (The Pantheon Fairy Tale and Folklore Library)

Japanese Ghosts and Demons: Art of the Supernatural -- This one is about folklore in Ukiyo-e prints (some in color).

 

I haven't personally read this one, but it looked useful-- The Book of Yokai: Mysterious Creatures of Japanese Folklore

 

Also, if you're wanting to write about kitsune, I'd recommend looking into trickster mythology (Br'er Rabbit, Anansi, Eris, Coyote, Satan, Loki, etc.)

I did some myth work a while back, if you need some Chinese help on Taoist and Buddhist deities, ascended beings, demons, and ascended spirits. The Chinese and Japanese share Kitsune, she was the Chinese demon fox before Japanese took her.

 

Outside of that, I highly recommend Journey to the West, Sun Wukong/Son Goku is one of the most beloved monkey characters in East Asian mythology. As a political figure, he was actually the favorite of Chairman Mao, when he use to teach Chinese literature as a figurehead of revolutionary change and defiance against the highest powers of Gods and even divine powers like Buddha. Not to mention Dragon Ball series was partially based on the monkey King's adventures.

 

Anyway, Anime is an underrated art form that takes both a writer and an artist to create.

I love Goku in Dragon Ball and also the Bijuu, Son Goku, in Naruto. I'm not sure if I'm going to have giant ape creatures or not.
