An application of intent to Marry has to be lodged, and only after 30 days can any one marry.

Early January is the earliest that same sex marriages can begin.

Nope.  I am in Northern California.  Napa Fire is already gone.  Kind of sad, really.  When you get to see the soots from the fire everyday, and you know the place that's being burned....  Hope our SoCal friends are fine though.

Congratulations Australia! The 30 day cooling off period is a good deal too. We have had the right to marry our same sex partners since 2006 , within 8 months our divorce rate escalated exponentially  , I should know it’s my speciality. Children in same sex marriages , often having been adopted , have a far worse time dealing with this . Be that as it may , the right to marry , is a fundamental freedom that belongs to all . With greater freedom comes greater responsibility, with that kept in mind there’s absolutely nothing wrong with , ‘ till death do us part ‘ . Again , BRAVO Australia!
