Weekly Wrap Up (Nov.3 - Nov. 9)

image.png                 Or           image.png

No matter who you prefer, Daffy or Sylvester, they both have what's on my mind!

I'm at a loss on what to expect of late. Snow one day and cold temps for 3 or 4 days, then mild summer days (20 C) the next few. Rinse, Repeat and carry on. Luckily the snow tires are on!

So, tell me how beautiful it is where you are. Tell me it is sunny and 80 in Florida, or California! Let me dream :)

Speaking of which, the past two winters I escaped in January to Hawaii. This year, I'm thinking LA   For those Angelinos out there, or visitors to the city before, where should I go, what should I do? I have to admit that I've done Disneyland, California Adventure, Universal Studios, but like 20 years ago :o. My last trip I did the La Brea Tar Pits and Museum, The Holocaust Museum, and did a drive around the city. Oh, stopped one day at the Aquarium at Long Beach and I have been to Sea World in San Diego. I took the I-10 to its end at Santa Monica but didn't know where I was going so turned left and ended up parking just before Marina Del Ray :P. Walked to the beach just in time to see a gorgeous surfer walking across the beach and put down his board to take a beach shower where he stripped out of his wetsuit and I had a free show. Yes, that kind of show :P.

I think I want to see the Getty Museum, maybe the Griffith Observatory.

Okay, enough of January :gikkle:

The Weekly Wrap Up is actually looking into the past, not the future :P So what happened this past week?

Monday was the day that Cia launched the November CSR:

Tuesday was Myr's day to go looking at one of his favourite genres I believe:

Wednesday :o! Guess who was back :o? It was Aaron with an all new Ask An Author 3.0:

Thursday, everyone's favourite puffin came by with a brand new writing event ;):

Finally on Friday, whew, I think I need a break :P. Aditus I'm sure created a lot of click bait with the way his Prompt Blog was titled and started :P You dirty minded people :gikkle:

What? I'm not done? I hate that internal voice that won't let me move on :(. Myr gave us a mixed bag of words this week on the Words of the Day:

phlebotomy, vehemently, ligature, etymology, phenomenal, chirography, circumvent

Down here in GA, it's been in the low 60s at night (16C) and mid 70s during the day (23.8).  I hope that does upset some of you.

Florida has said goodbye to hurricanes🤞and has settled into "fall" weather.  At 9:20am we are looking at 77F (25C)  in the Tampa Bay area and it should top out in the low 80s this afternoon. Humidity is low and there's a nice breeze.

Have  good day y'all!

Been doing the same thing here. Up and down. Cold and warm. Snow and rain. Wish I had my camera 3 weeks ago when I was coming down from visiting friends and could see, (The rare crystal-clear day), Mt. Mansfield's top, over in Vermont covered in snow. Very nice, but a reminder that I'll see more snow sooner, rather than later.

Stay warm everyone. And for those in the warm climates. Stay cool. 😀

Hadn’t realized you’re a fellow Georgian. Only a high of 61 today, 55 overnight. Is fall over already?

@wildone Definitely visit the Getty Museum, both the old and the new. At the new museum is a favorite of mine: Bacchante with an Ape by Hendrick ter Brüggen. In the space this painting occupies the subject just glows, and she invites you in — Won't you have a sip of wine with me?  Just remember, although admission is free you do need to reserve a time to visit both of them.

As I was leaving the new Getty Museum on my last visit, Robert Englund of A Nightmare on Elm Street fame who played the iconic character Freddy Krueger, and his smallish entourage were arriving in the main lobby.

Also, on that trip, as I was coming down from Nichols Canyon after having visited a friend, I was stopped at an intersection at the bottom of the hill leading into West Hollywood... Walking along the crosswalk right in front of my car was Nicolas Cage and someone with him. And... oddly, enough... when my former partner and I sold our townhouse in Toronto (leaving for Boston), none other than a body-double for Mr. Cage bought the place. Coincidence?

Well, five of seven words this week, so not bad, but after the last couple of weeks a disappointment.  LOL.

Agree the Getty is a must, maybe a few weeks in Palm Springs?
