First off, YAY! you got a blog! :2thumbs:

You're definitely right; every coin does have two sides. I'm glad your coin is facing up :)

Few years are obviously good or bad. 2006 saw my mum in hospital for the first time in decades, my eldest brother having prostate cancer (and chemo-therapy) and my father-in-law diagnosed with untreatable leukemia. Despite that, I would say 2006 was a good year overall. My father-in-law saw Christmas (that had been in doubt at one point) and looked good at the time. My brother is doing well, and my mum is happy -- that's enough for me.

Sharon, Graeme, Kevvers, I admire you all for your outlook.

Unfortunately, I'm a confirmed pessimist. If something happens and I can't change it, I get frustrated to the point that I go temporarily crazy from not being able to right the obvious wrong. I don't deal well with life's little down points, at all.

One person suggested that it was because I'm a cancer, and all of that empathy crap and whatnot. My explanation is that I just kinda care too much about the people I love to accept anything bad happening to them. I don't like things that "just aren't fair".
