I heard a song today that inspired an entire character. There was something funny and terrible about it all at the same time. Terrible, I guess because of what the songs about, but funny in the way the artist sings it. This is also one of those things I can

Onto the sad news. There was a huge apartment fire not far away from where I live, and I get fires happen all the time, but this one kind of hit me because in below zero temperatures there are over a hundred families homeless. As soon as I heard they were taking donations I cleaned out my closets. And this might be selfish, but something like that makes me feel really fortunate.

Dom- there's nothing selfish about it. Katrina taught a whole lot of people in my neck of the woods that bad luck doesn't just happen to other people.

What is it with you being morbid lately?

And also, don't blame your bird for ringing, blame your phone for teaching it how ;-)

"Do You want fries with that?" is by Tim McGraw, a/k/a Mr. Faith Hill; he's also the son of baseball great Tug McGraw.

Dom? You're not a big country music fan? :music:

:,( Saddest "fish story" I ever heard. But a very interesting, well done story.

Tim McGraw is on my hate list after "Flicka" which was as bad as Nazi propaganda -- and the norrible horrible theme song he wrote for it. I haven't been listening to country music myself much in the last decade? more than that? because I don't like reactionary values and I don't like the Las Vegas-y sound so many country musicians are going for these days. But I've been a real fan of country music in the past and would be willing to be again if I liked what I was hearing.

Hell, you can't even trust Kinky Friedman any more -- did you see his election platform? Ick.

I liked it. I found it very morbid though. But I still like it.

I like the title "In the Fish Bowl"

"Picking up the Pieces" is just so...cliche.
