J_Ross Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) Why am I always last? I don't catch on too quick. *eyeroll* But, seriously, am I the only one on the WWW that hadn't seen this? *shakes head* World could use more of these kind. A Little Excerpt: So here was my golden boy, born at a time in my life when I was acutely aware of the powers of both love and hatred, chewing his nails in the backseat, trying not to cry. He looked up at me with his giant green eyes. I could tell he was phrasing his question very carefully, as he is such a precise little boy. "I'm not a fag if I don't want to have a girlfriend, am I?" He was so quiet and serious. I pulled over and turned around to face him. Edited February 17, 2009 by J.Ross

J_Ross Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 (edited) *nods* It's kind of awesome, imo. We could definitely use more parents like this kid's. I'm thrilled I'm not the only one that hadn't seen this. Apparently it's been up for years... O.o Edited February 17, 2009 by J.Ross
Former Member Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Wow! Thank you for sharing this i saw this last thread last night and it said "Some People" so i thought it was about bitchy people so i clicked on it lol. This mother Wow! Props to her! That story is really touching and Cute! Because i could see myself in this 9 year old kids shoes... Playing with my sisters barbies. That woman is so accepting and it's great And what she does to help people Wow! Amazing. I read the whole thing and was like WOW! WOW! WOW! Especially the ending i really liked. In this 1 story i'm reading this woman lost her husband and everyday she reads the newspaper for articles that are the worst possible and absolute nonsense too show how horrible the world is. and she's got a binder that she keeps them in. Last night after reading that story i decided to do the opposite. I'll start a binder of really positive stories. I was tempted to email this mothers story to my own mother see what she would say. I still might.

A Little Excerpt: That's an awesome and beautiful story, J.Ross! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! You know, I think there are several straight ladies here at GA who could be such mothers if so called upon In this 1 story i'm reading this woman lost her husband and everyday she reads the newspaper for articles that are the worst possible and absolute nonsense too show how horrible the world is. and she's got a binder that she keeps them in. Last night after reading that story i decided to do the opposite. I'll start a binder of really positive stories. I was tempted to email this mothers story to my own mother see what she would say. I still might. I think that's a wonderful idea, Mattie! Thanks again for the great story! -Kevin
lisabrown14 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Yes, I guess so, I wish to have a parent like that too. I remember so well when I first told my family, that was the saddest day in my life as far as I can remember.

SRevol Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Beautiful, i wish my mother was like that, she
Adrian Michaels Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Wow, that was really really wonderful. I have a friend that I work with on various student rights issues (yay Student gov. nerds!) She is a non-traditional student, and always has pictures of her two adorable children. She reminds me very much of this mother, in the fact that she loves her children, and supports all of their decisions. Both kids are free to express themselves in ways that I have never seen before. And they're really happy kids. There need to be more people like that in the world.
