Mark Arbour Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Mark, Another fantastic chapter. As another poster noted, the scene with Wade, JP and the memory of Tonto was a tear jerker (I'm holding back tears as I recall the scene now). I, too, will be sad when Bloodlines ends. BTW, you have the FBO stuff and the flying costs for the Falcon dead on. While it is expensive and generous, for a California land baron or Internet billionaire, its just walking around money. As always, thank you for sharing your writing. Bryan Thanks Bryan. "Walking around money"...that's a good way to put it. I think it's one of those things that if you have to ask how expensive it is, you can't afford it.
Enric Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 ch52: oh, these coquettish situations in high society
alphadog415 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Seriously, I'm working on the sequel, but it will be a little different. Keep an open mind. Mark - Different is a very flexible and dangerous word. Just how many "adjustments" might we have to endure? Personally I can be pretty open minded about new characters, changes of venue (maybe a branch of the family moves to New York to be near Wall St.), the younger crowd (Will et al.) does not see the older family members values as being important and a rift develops, Steph loses a bunch of his $$ in the dot com bust and has to deal with being poorer, and the such. I would be sad to have someone die in the interem period, but death comes for us all (having it be Matt or Wade would be over the line). However, there should be some things regarded as sacro-sanct; Escorial can not be consumed in a Cali wild fire, JP + Steph, Brad + Robbie are divorce proof, the family cannot be permanently sundered in two by some truly evil person. I'm sure some of the other posters here can add to the list. Change can be uncomfortable (Jeff) but as long as the essential elements of the story stay in tact, you won't lose any of us avid fans. So how about a general hint on the word "different"? Nothing specific, just very general like perspective, radical character, that sort of hint. Hhhmmm?? Maybe just a little something? A little hint "thank you" for all of us who have hung in there? Huh? Laterz, Dave
Mark Arbour Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 Alright, that's fair. "Different" as in we'll be timewarping back to an earlier time. You'll have to deal with shifting from the past to the present.
Mark M Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Alright, that's fair. "Different" as in we'll be timewarping back to an earlier time. You'll have to deal with shifting from the past to the present. wierd....timwarping to the past.....but yet we have to deal with shifting from the past to the present....wierd..............But cool!! i'm already excited!! but my mind is now cuffuffled .....TIME to read a book. -.- since i'm not getting any quality literature from G.A atm. (and it's funny i'm like reading 4 stories)
Mark Arbour Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 The final chapter of Bloodlines should be posted tomorrow, with a nod to Martin Luther King Day.
rjo Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 I can not say how unhappy it will be. Bloodlines could have been a 100 chapters I can't get enough of Matt and Wade.
Mark Arbour Posted January 18, 2010 Author Posted January 18, 2010 I can not say how unhappy it will be. Bloodlines could have been a 100 chapters I can't get enough of Matt and Wade. Who says they're gone?
alphadog415 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 tutti - I look forward to tomorrows post with mixed feelings. It'll be nice to see how the story raps up and what strands may be left to give as a hint of the future. The true future as in the continuation of the current timeline. Simutaniously it will be sad saying good by to Matt and Wade and all the rest of the gang for a time. For me, having come late to GA.org, this will be my first time having to wait in limbo for the next book in a tale. Until now CAP has been one long pleasant read. Plus I've enjoyed the oppurtunity to dust off some brain cells and participate in these forums. Hopefully my posts have not caused too much of this... amongst the group. A journey into the past to join the thread from a different perspective should be fun. I'm looking forward to it. Of course I think we should still emplore our dear author to continue the CAP saga into the aughts at some time. The tale as it stands now is not at an ending. I would now seek guidance from some of you who have been here a while. I found Mark and CJ on my own and enjoy them both. I'm starting to poke around some other authors but will gladly take recomendations from those more familiar with GA. For some reason the chat applet here does not work on my old and trusty Blue & White Mac running 10.3.9. So I miss out on what I assume would be the leading place for gossip and insight. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Dave 1
KJames Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Um...don't know if you've noticed this, but everything I've written has been done in Verdana. The reason? One of the hottest guys I ever met in my life, a student of mine, told me that Verdana was the coolest, classiest of all the fonts. I figured that if a walking God thought that, who was I to object? Great minds think alike, then! 1

But my favorite is "The Ordinary Us."
Zeoanne Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 OK, you made my eyes drip! That was excellent Mark. I was hoping for either Matt to all of a sudden get off his chair and kneel in front of Wade and propose to him after Jack's announcement... *Sigh* I'll just make believe it really happened. Either way, that was simply awesome and I'm gonna miss them two dearly. I'm hoping they'll still be showing up now and again on your next one, perhaps for their wedding?
Conner Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 As they say, all good things must come to an end. Great closing chapter, Mark! A wonderful story well told.

But you WILL see them in the next story, although they won't be the central characters.

But you WILL see them in the next story, although they won't be the central characters. HMMM well i's like only a few more years and they can come to canada... seriously why are marcel and lou the only American-canadians! we need MORE CANADIANs!! lol I liked this chapter. it was a good end. But the total end (jack's announcement) i honestly didn't like. It's pretty much like Jp's HIV test wayyy back in the day. I was not impressed i was actualy hoping that to be a main issue to solve. Oh well MAtt's Healthy and no1 died this time....waIT WAIT WAIT WHY DID NO1 DIE????? >=) and hey!! britney Spears is Makin Some Dough with her Music now!! maybe a concert for MAtt and wade to celebrate!! what else happened in 99........9 years old.....i don't remember much from then other then our computers could blow up!! Anyway! Good Job and Good bye Bloodlines!!
Tiger Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 That was a great ending, Mark. I'm definitely looking forward to the next one. From what you're saying, the narrator is either JP or Stefan, either that or you're going to write it in 3rd person. The latter would be interesting for sure.

Tiger Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 (edited) ch53: these insatiables..... scheduling threesome invitations. It would be better to just go with a foursome. Edited January 18, 2010 by Tiger
ricky Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Just started Bloodlines. OHIO! I'm a transplanted worthless nut (buckeye) And from the Akron area too. Loving it.

ricky Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Awesome! Then you know the lay of the land, so to speak. OH! What a shaker Heights slut he is. Just finished CH 04. This guy would screw a porcupine if it would lay still long enough. And I thought my boys were sluts. I better get back to CH 05 perhaps I'll get some contact info on him. hehe
ricky Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Eeeew! A Texas Supertrooper redneck! He could give you almost any disease sheep are prone to have. I'd like to have the guys condom concession though. Hell I think I could retire after just a couple more chapters. And retire sa-milen!
ricky Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Oh My Gawd Mark! Have you no shame! Only YOU could work magic like this Mark. Make them bump uglies at an Ohio backwoods fair and have it end up being grandfather and grandson. Now we know he will have to have everyone in the room right? Incest is best? Isn't it? (Somehow I think it would be more fitting if this little guy was plucking a banjo!) I've figured out what I hate about your writing Mark. It seems I suffer sleep deprivation when ever I get started on it. I hate to stop reading even to sleep.
ricky Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Just finished CH 08. The dinner scene meeting the family. The family and familial dynamics are fantastic and unique. Each one having their own natural charisma :king:and each their own quirks. How complex this could become. And knowing you . . ., probably will. But so far I've only gotten lost once. I may have to go back and find who Ace is again. I missed that one. It seems he just appeared at the dinner but you know me. :(CRS Great story but if he doesn't die of kidney failure he is going to screw himself to death. :blink:I'm just glad I'm here to watch!
ricky Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 OK, finished CH 12. Barcelona is a hoppin' little town. I have to do it. I have to get a few zzzz's. I'll get my 4 hours and try and be back at it. I better get a little written of the next day or so too or some people will put a contract out on me. cheers r
