when you start writing efiction stories can there be molestation?

The rules say no adult minor relationships.

i just dont want to write anything that might get my account deleted or the story deleted.

If you'd like a second opinion, check with the Writer Support Team lead and/or deputy lead (C James and Talonrider).

Molestation maybe possible, depending on the context and how it's written, but I would also suggest putting a disclaimer at the start of the chapter because it may disturb some readers.

I've seen others say that XXX or porn stories (with just sex) aren't allowed so why don't you just adopt the same principle here? If having molestation is relevant to the story, so be it, just don't describe it in extreme detail. One of my stories has 'suggested' molestation so it happens off scene or however you want to put it.

Just my 2 cents but yeah obviously graeme has more of an idea than me :)

Molestation isn't a relationship, so it would depend how it is covered. For example, if it is shown in any kind of an erotic way, that would be chopped in a hurry.

If you're just referring to an event, no problem.

Context is a big part of this. What we're trying to keep out is anything that would depict kids as a sexual object from the reader's point of view.

The disclaimer is also a good idea.

I think the others probably have the right of here. If it is relevent to the story you would probably be safe in adding so long as you included the disclaimer and were VERY careful about how much detail you used in describing it.

You might also try checking the Writers Corner Forum for answers. Good luck with your story.

That's an excellent way to put it CJ.

Mark, you forgot to mention your own experience writing in child molestation in your stories.

There was a plotline in Mark's story The Landwhore, where Stefan Schluter catches one of his employees sitting naked, aroused, with a naked 13-year old boy in the room. The molestation wasn't actually shown, but you pretty much got the idea. Later on, Stefan talks to his 10-year old nephew Brad, who admits that he was a victim as well. I thought Mark handled that extremely well.

Why thank you Jeremy. I'd forgotten all about that. You're right, it wasn't descriptive, just suggestive.
