Benji Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 ..................Another great chapter! It's still a race between the cops and Alan! What are the cops going to find when they examine the car? Are they going find out none of Danes fingerprints are on the steering wheel? Will the drivers seat be too far back for Dane to have operated the car. Finally, what kept the accelerator down to cause the speed of the crash where it caused Dane to be thrown though the windshield? But what the cops don't know is that Alan will most likely be out of town to catch a game! I loved the little spat, and the laughing Charlie! I'm still wondering whom Mr. Echels was talking to on his cell on his way to meet his wife for their anniversary? Did he hire a P.I.? Then again the 'love you too' as he ended the call has me a bit confused? 1
Site Administrator Cia Posted November 15, 2010 Author Site Administrator Posted November 15, 2010 Hee hee... Mr. Echels is NOT gay. That's all I'm saying though.

Chapter 19 ...........FINALLY another chapter!! No worries Cia, I'm very glad to see it! Yikes!! Alan is really some kinda evil psycho! The police have a strong circumstantial case against him, but I don't think it will make trial. His rage will get him killed instead, then Tap and Dane can live happily everafter! 1
Site Administrator Cia Posted December 14, 2010 Author Site Administrator Posted December 14, 2010 ...........FINALLY another chapter!! No worries Cia, I'm very glad to see it! Yikes!! Alan is really some kinda evil psycho! The police have a strong circumstantial case against him, but I don't think it will make trial. His rage will get him killed instead, then Tap and Dane can live happily everafter! We shall see Or you shall. I've already seen it, I just have to write it. It's actually my after dinner before kids bedtime plan. We shall see. I'm glad you like the chapter. Alan is a bit wacko and homicidal but it's not completely unlikely imo. A lot of people allow their feelings of self-entitlement and ego to justify all sorts of horrid and reprehensible behavior. Not to mention he's just a giant asshole. More to come soon!!
Frostina Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 More to come soon!! How soon is "soon" Cia? Please post sooner.. waiting anxiously!!
Site Administrator Cia Posted January 7, 2011 Author Site Administrator Posted January 7, 2011 Chapter 20 is up!! Finally at long last the story is back in line. Sorry it took me so long everyone, it's been a crazy few months. Bonus... I already have the next chapter half-way done. I got sucked into the story writing it last night and just kept going after I finished this chapter. Thankfully my beta, Renee, knew how anxious I was to post and did a quick edit on this for me. Thanks hun!! I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Escaping the Pain Ch. 20

I try to get them back to you as soon as possible, but like you've said before, sometimes life gets in the way of doing what needs to get done!
Benji Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 (edited) That's right, it's done! And posted! For your reading enjoyment, Escaping the Pain Ch. 21 and Epilogue is in GA Stories. Don't forget to leave a review and/or comment in the forum!! ..........Hmmm, chapter 21 was very good, I thought Dane's lawyer would provide a bodyguard also. Good thing too! I liked the fact that Allen is dead, no need to drag that crazy man any further into the story. However the epilogue left a lot of loose ends floating around, I had expected a final police report and a screaming grandmother, then there is the estate that dear old dad left behind leaving Dane at a 3-0 advantage (Gay/Tap, Mom's estate, and dad's estate. Dad dead, grandmother without anything) Great story Cia! I look forward to more in the future. Edited January 18, 2011 by Benji
Site Administrator Cia Posted January 17, 2011 Author Site Administrator Posted January 17, 2011 I didn't completely surprise you with the fact that Charlie was a bodyguard then? Darn! Ah well, you are good I sort of left loose ends for the future on purpose. This story has closure but it's not ended. I am really glad you enjoyed the story. More to come in the months ahead! Thank you for all of your comments and reviews!! 1
Tomas Posted March 15, 2011 Posted March 15, 2011 Started to read Escaping the Pain and realized it sounded familiar. I guess I have read one of your stories. I remembered even leaving a comment on one of the Chapters so I checked the reviews brought over from before the "Great Change " and sure enough there it was; Chapter 11. Title: Chapter 11 Reviewer: TomasG Finally, glad that is out of the way. Now to put the father down. That piece of crap shouldn't be allowed to breathe the same air. Author's Response: Alan Kendricks is definitely a waste of space. I'm glad you think the long overdue feelings reveal came at a good time . Thanks for the review!! Date: 09/07/2010 12:43 AM Admin Options: [Edit] [Delete] TomasG is my 'User Name' on some other forums and the one that I used on the old eFiction when it required a separate login. Plain 'Tomas' was taken at those other sites, but being one of the original 100 members on GA, plain 'Tomas' was available here. I enjoyed reading Escaping the Pain. The theme is in a similar vein as Hiding but approaches the subject of abuse from a different angle. In Pain the abuse is not so much physical (although that is present) as in Hiding. Also the religious aspect isn't present. It is more about how greed can corrupt a father (Alan) so much that his abuse attempts are get to rid of his son (Dane) in any way that he can, so as to get his greedy hands on the money that the son inherited from his mother. Dane is surrounded by people who care and who show him that he is a good person and at the same time thwarting Alan who in the end becomes the victim of his greed. Also I think that Pain isn't really dark [there are some dark passages], but as a whole it is not so dark as it could have been and that Hiding will be, based on that story so far. Your style of writing makes for easy reading, but that doesn't mean that the horror of the abuse, the anger, hated, the emotional toll and the tearing down of the self esteem of the abused didn't come through. SORRY! I haven't a clue why I didn't associate Escaping the Pain as one of your stories. I won't promise that I'll read some of your other stories [the list/books time factor], but I do promise to keep watch for future chapters of Hiding when you decide it's time to continue. Take Care Tomas 1
Site Administrator Cia Posted March 15, 2011 Author Site Administrator Posted March 15, 2011 Oh yes! Duh!! I should have put the 2 together as well, lol. Well I'm glad you read another of my stories, though don't feel any rush to continue to read. I have a varied content in there, all sorts of genres. Escaping the Pain was definitely more focused on the criminal reasons behind Alan's abuse. I also did very much want to make that story a romance. I was writing down plot ideas for Hiding last night and it won't be that same format at all. Hiding focuses on the abuse, the cause and the effect it has on the body and mind. Anything further for Joey will need to incorporate that journey he has to take to mental health, with the many stumbling blocks along the way. Dane's story was vastly different. He had the support of his mother and his abuse, while bad, wasn't as extreme, nor long term, at least until Alan tried to kill him The big thing was that I wanted to show the care and support that Dane and Tap gave each other through the story, their challenges as a couple and how they protected each other. That and I did give it a bit of the ideal spin, Dane's life took an abrupt turn for the better that wasn't quite realistic but hey, literary license and all that!
