Hamen Cheese Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Ok, so I have like 500+ songs on my ipod and I realized that I'm completely bored with them now. I often find myself scrolling through many songs just to find one that I remotely like as I exercise in the gym. In the long run, it's counterproductive. Anyone have any recommendations on good songs I could listen to? I figure these would have to be upbeat (definitely no acoustic songs, this ain't a spa!). I'm thinking club music or pop music fused with club beats. Isn't that supposed to get the blood pumping? Any recommendations? I'd appreciate it if you could include a youtube link or something so I can listen to it. 1

Guest Wyndham Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I'm currently listening to Harry Potter read by Stephen Fry - best of all narrators I've come across so far. Does a much better job for me at the gym than listening to music. I do have quite a varied selection of music and find that MoodAgent is ideal as it allows me to choose what music i want to listen to (to match my mood) - i.e. happy/sad/upbeat/romantic, etc My third option, sometimes second, is to listen to the radio, usually one of the talk radio stations. My favourite is LBC (London's Big Talk).
Menorain Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 (edited) In the long run, it's counterproductive. EXACTLY, SMEXY! Why not download a podcast and listen to that? No need to change the track/listening to something you enjoy/may be quite hilaaaarious/time at the gym goes by faster. That's what I do anyway. I'm not saying that it will work for you as you might not be as amazing as I clearly am, but at least give it a try Edited August 19, 2010 by Menorain
Hamen Cheese Posted August 20, 2010 Author Posted August 20, 2010 I don't think our lcoal itunes really supports podcasts haha. I just love getting the "This feature is not available in your country" message. I'll look into the recommended songs though as soon as I can.

I'm a massive geek and spend my gym sessions listening to a final fantasy podcast. Yes, I am that sad haha Anyway, my music taste is better than your woman up there, so listen to some of these links. Forty-Two Posted August 23, 2010 Posted August 23, 2010 For the gym, definitely get Rammstein. It doesn't matter if you don't speak German. I hate running, but when I listened to Reise Reise at the gym, I nearly puked at the end of my workout because the beats were so fast and energetic I just couldn't stop pushing myself further and faster. Good luck!

C J Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 If you want to find some new songs an easy way to do it is on Pandora radio. You just search an artist or genre and create a "station" and it will give you songs that are similar to what you like. There are options to add songs to your station and ban songs as well, and you can make as many different stations as you want, so you can "tune in" to any particular type of music you want to depending on your mood at the moment. Try it out if you haven't already, it's easy and free. http://www.pandora.com/ They have a paid version with expanded options. The free one offers plenty, and if you like a song enough to buy it you can do that too.
