methodwriter85 Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Alright, so now I'm doing music recs of songs from the Man In Motion music era, which I see as 1982-1986. Check 'em out! And like I said in the other thread, please free to add any recs you have of songs that came out from 1982 to 1986! 1. Love My Way - The Psychelic Furs, 1982 2. Melt With You - Modern English, 1982 3. I Want Candy - Bow Wow Wow, 1982 4. White Lines - Grandmaster Flash, 1983 5. Drive - The Cars, 1984 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbTjzZzfR7w 6. 88 Lines About 44 Women- The Nails, 1984 7. Tenderness - General Public, 1984 8. In-Between Days - The Cure, 1985 9. But Not Tonight - Depeche Mode, 1986 10. If You Leave - OMD, 1986
methodwriter85 Posted December 31, 2010 Author Posted December 31, 2010 11. Into the Groove - Madona, 1984 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBc95YDB6io&feature=related 12. Self-Control - Laura Branigan, 1984 13. The Glamorous Life - Sheila E,, 1984 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnaOTu-ZrVA 14. Our House - Madness, 1983 15. If You Were Here- Thompson Twins, 1984 16. Lovergirl - Teena Marie, 1984 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnR7VkEzFlE 17. Electric Avenue - Eddie Grant, 1983 18. When Doves Cry- Prince, 1984 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09alPYUmxxM 19. Manic Monday - The Bangles, 1986 20. Take On Me - Aha, 1985
methodwriter85 Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 21. Obsession - Animotion, 1985 I heard this in Adventureland, and I gotta admit I'm really feeling it. This song paired with the video hits so many 80's cliches that it nearly borders on self-parody. Do you have any stories about dancing to this song at the disco while coked out of your mind, Mark? 22. Rock Me Amadeus- Falco, 1985 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yCR_WYxyoU 23. Bastards of Young - The Replacements, 1985 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jA-W1p3Pp4 24. Your Love - Outfield, 1985 25. Live To Tell - Madonna, 1986 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vmX-p8IFSA Prolly one of my favorite songs by Madonna. I would have used this for the scene in Man Motion where Brad and Bitty talk about who the father of JJ is, but that scene was set in '85 instead of '86 so I couldn't. Damnit. LOL. I've run into that problem so many times.
methodwriter85 Posted August 21, 2011 Author Posted August 21, 2011 26. I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner, 1985 I am now kicking myself for not using this when I was doing music recs for Man In Motion. This song seemed like it was everywhere in 1985! It was used on Miami Vice, on One Life to Live, on Quantum Leap for a scene set in 1985, etc etc.

So much that I still have a hard time listening to it.
methodwriter85 Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) It was everywhere in 1985. So much that I still have a hard time listening to it. Hah. Nice. I feel the same way about 2002 and "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker. *shudders* I like the song a lot. I should have used it somewhere in Man In Motion, but it never really came up. Back when I was doing the recs for your '09 stories, I was pretty strict about not repeating songs, which means I'd hold off on using songs in case a better moment arrived. Man In Motion did wind up being on the shorter side for your stories...I'm kinda tempted to do a "MiM Remix" thread. I really did enjoy doing the music for this. Now let's continue. 27. 28. Wishing (I Had A Photography of You) by Flock Of Seagulls, 1982 29. 30. Cruel Summer by Bananarama, 1984 "Let's Hear It for the Boy" is sooooo Robbie circa Man In Motion.
