The Merchant – Asmodeus

 

Asmodeus is a great merchant. He works on the outskirts of Gaia Town. He doesn’t like people and he doesn’t like animals. In fact, he doesn’t really like anything living. But he knows what he knows. And what he knows keeps him out of trouble. Most merchants collect objects, weapons, gold and sell for a higher price. No. Asmodeus collects much deeper jewels. He collects secrets from anyone who will give them to him, in exchange for something. He doesn't offer his services for free, he lives comfortably and in order to do that he charges a high fee. But monetary value is nothing to him. He charges a much greater cost.

 

It was once heard that The King approached Asmodeus for help on a critical issue of national importance. The King returned, but he never was the same again.

 

What is it that Asmodeus does to people, that makes them so different? He is surely not to be trusted by anyone. Or is there someone that knows his secret?. He somehow has wrangled his way into the Courts of both Gaia Town and the enemy, through his keeping of secrets. His name is never mentioned by anyone for fear of losing those dear to them. He is a dangerous, volatile and unpredictable being. He is a last resort. For anyone. Even the wizards fear him. The soothsayers say even The Gods fear him.

 

Theres a rumour, just a rumour, that he takes exactly what is most important to a person. Their memories. But who knows? It could be something much darker and much more sickening. Dare you approach Asmodeus?

Okay, Asmodeus is awesome, or do I mean awful? I'm definitely including him in a tavern scene. I've already got it playing in my head.

No one ever accused me  of being a good graphic artist but here are my meager attempts.  At least we'll have a frame of spatial reference.  There are maps of the larger island where Gaia-Town is located as well as a map of Gaia-Town neighborhoods in my Gallery. I don't know how to post to the forum.

Let me know people, I am shooting for a beginning release around Feb 15.  This is all new and crazy. I can send my story around to Aditus, Johnathan, and Joann, who have revealed bios for characters. I've included your characters in my story.  We can then reveal stories over the course of a week. I need your input. We can also just reveal on the same day, which would be really cool. I love the different perspective thing too. I'm trying to be open. Give me your thoughts.

Background-Abandon along with his younger brother Granger when they were very young children (Orson:5,Granger:3), as they grew up and reached there teens Orson became obsessed with dark magic, eventually leading to a break up with his younger brother who fled to the mountain, still in the cave they were abandon in Orson creates his dark magic along with curses and potions. After poisoning a few of the local prostitutes in the local brothel, the men of the village Smoked him out of his cave leading him to live second Life living at a secluded farm deep in the mountains.

Okay, I hope this works. I'm going to post on Feb 15th. I will use "Gaia-Town- Quench" as my title and post here. I'm going to post the "History of Gaia-Town as a prologue. You can post Gaia-Town-(chapter title) as yours going forward. As soon as we have characters published to use, we can begin playing with each other's sketches. Does this work for you? I love the idea of us giving diverse perspectives of these characters. I've used Aditus' Taranis, Jo Ann's Endora, and Johnathan's Asmodeus is an important part. Deep breath. If you are opposed, let me know.
