Popular Post ColumbusGuy
I'm working on Chapter 61, and it should be ready pretty soon... In the meantime, I had blood drawn for the usual stuff related to diabetes and things, and I'm doing okay. My A1C which is a measure for my glucose levels is down from what it was last time: 5.9 as opposed to 6.1 from last year. That's all good but still a bit above what is normal, considering they keep lowering what that ought to be every time I get close. :) On the 17th I had my six month eye exam follow-up, and that looked good too, with the pressure in the good eye holding at 16. The doctor asked about doing a set of pictures for the bad eye as it hadn't been done, but things looked okay with it, so I asked what the point was as there was no chance of getting any vision at all in that eye, and it had always been my worst one even before the diabetes, so she agreed with me to not worry about it since it wasn't giving me problems. Christmas was okay, my house mate made dinner and it was nice. Talked with my closest friends who live out of state, one in the prison state of California. His job involves computers so he works at home with no problems, and only has to go into the lab once a week or so to test programs, so he can do that by himself. Had some snow, but it mostly went by Christmas, and is gone now with us expecting rain and mid 50s Friday! Happy New Year, my dear friends! 5 2 Link to comment
ColumbusGuy
Wow, it's been a while since I posted here, and I'm sorry for that! All I can say is that distractions abounded and I was hampered by a reluctantly appearing Muse and real life worries about other life aspects. My last checkup of 2020 hinted at some potential problems, and the latest one this year reassured me that things were essentially back to normal for me, with a good A1C and bloodwork and kidneys seemed to be chugging along if not at their once youthful vigor. I just had my second Kovid shot Tuesday with no side effects, and at least Ohio's governor is showing signs of sanity concerning restrictions, not that I go anywhere much these days. :) I'm working on JM 61 with a firm idea of where it will go, so don't despair, it will be going to my dear G-Man at some point. I have to say that I'm unhappy with our site now with them replacing my pics with their gallery numbers...not even a link to make them easier to see. It seems illogical to have them in the Gallery and yet not allow a link to them in the chapters in which they appear, while many other pics are onsite with no relevance to any ongoing story...so much for a concern about site space. How much space would a link to an onsite existing image add? Still, GA will continue to receive my chapters first out of loyalty to them for being my original writing site, and having such easy means of providing us with feedback. Jeez, last third of May, and it's 87 out with humidity out the wazoo... :) 3 Link to comment
