Today is 3/14/15

Time to celebrate 3.1415

Think I'll go bake a pie.

My father always had a knack for bad jokes and he used to tell one about a bumpkin learning math. The country boy took issue with the equation, "Pi R squared," quipping "Pie are round. Cornbread are square!"  Of course, the joke makes no sense in the South, where we know the best cornbread is made in a round skillet.

At least you didn't call it international pi day as I've seen it done elsewhere. US Pi Day would be more accurate, since most of us don't write our dates jumbled up.

Anyway, Happy US Pi Day back. :)

When I saw this first time today, I was thinking the rest of the world could do it in April, if only there were 31 days in April  :P

Today is a special Pi day:

This year, 2015, Pi Day comes with a once-every-100-years distinction: It's 3.1415.

And at 9:26:53 a.m., the date and time will mark the first 10 digits of pi: 3.141592653.
