Kurt Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 This is my favorite one. We would sing it at my summer camp. ONE TIN SOLDIER - Listen children to a story that was written long ago'Bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley far belowOn the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath the stoneAnd the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own CHORUS:So go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friendDo it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the endThere won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgement dayOn the bloody mornin' after, one tin soldier rides away So the people of the valley sent a message up the hillAsking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd killCame an answer from the mountain, "With our brothers we will shareAll the secrets of the mountain, and the treasure buried there." CHORUS Then the valley cried with anger, "Mount your horses, draw your swords!"And they killed the mountain people, so they got their just rewardAs they stood beside the treasure on the mountain dark and redTurned the stone and looked beneath it, "Peace on Earth" was all it said CHORUS Kurt

Masked Monkey Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 (edited) This is my favorite one. We would sing it at my summer camp. ONE TIN SOLDIER - Kurt This song is attached to the first movie that ever made me cry from emotional content. Probably because I wasn't ready for it. The Billy Jack is a fun (but bad) movie about tolerance and understanding, as well as some good fight scenes, I recommend it. (maybe I just thought Tom Laughlin was cute at the time) Worms Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, I'll go out and dig some worms; Long thin skinny ones; Big fat juicy ones, See how they wriggle and squirm. Bite their heads off, Suck their juice out, Throw their skins away, Nobody knows how much I thrive On worms three times a day. Long thin skinny ones slip down easily, Big fat juicy ones stick; Hold your head back, Squeeze their tail, And their juice just goes drip, drip. lol MARK, I LOVE this song. It has become a standard in my life. Offline, my pouting is always proceeded by the phrase "I'm going to get some worms" I have not used it in chat for fear that people will not know what I am talking about. I will comment on songs later. I was a leader for 2 summers and Director for 1 summer of a YMCA Day Camp for 4-6th graders. I have a lot of songs rumbling around. Unfortunately, most of them have hand motions  OMG, how much would you all pay to see me singing them. EDIT: OK, This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE, I still sing it to people who I know well and are still asleep in the morning when I am awake, hand motions included. It is so annoying and fun: Way up in the sky (hands thrown up) The little birds fly (fly with your hands) Way down in the nest (rock your arms, like holding a baby) The little birds rest (rest head on hands, Edited May 10, 2006 by Snow Dog
