@Backwoods Boy  RE:  Besides leaving room for the reader, there's another reason for not going into too much detail, especially for those of us who don't plan well.  It's hard to retract those blue eyes when you realize three published chapters later that they really need to be brown.  Contact lenses maybe?

I hate writing outlines. However, i have found a very fluid, easy to use piece of software that helps me hugely. One Note. Here are some of the notes from my next story. The tab is called Changes Again.. on the right within the tab you can add pages. I have a page for each chapter.  This was partly written when i found One Note, hence it starts at chapter 5.  On the title page i can keep track of the editing process.. what's been done, who in my team have what chapters.  You can add things, two chapters from now.. make notes.. it is easy and  very user friendly.

Thanks for the tips.  I've seen One Note in use before but haven't used it.  I'll take a look.

Even though my career was in computer science, I tend to do a lot on paper.  It's a generational thing, I think.  Up to this point, I've maintained paper records of characteristics.  My outlines tend to be the starting point of the file in which I plan to write the chapter.  Other records have been on paper.  I probably need to move into the twenty-first century. :/

i understand that ... i didnt think much of One Note at the start ... it came on my new laptop.  Then i decided to play with it. While it saves things, you can move them, erase them, add to your notes when you think of something you will need to remember in a later chapter when you are writing chapter 3.  Recently work finally upgraded our Office suite.  One Note is there .. after showing my team what they can do with it, all 15 of them use it now. And love it.   I hope you find it useful.

Okay .. this fudge will not make itself. I better go and make it.. cuz then i have to cut it all up and wrap it in nice pieces of pre-cut foil sheets. That is the hard part.

Lol would be a piece for the box, a piece for me. Two for the box, one, two for me.

Not good since I am a type Ii.

I downloaded the recipe as well. 🙂

Some people might like it here. Though lately whenever I go to make stuff, like brownies, and biscuits, I get the same question. "Isn't easier to already buy them pre-made?"

I think that was a hint my stuff tastes like shyte.

I use one note as well, for notes and stuff. I also use paper and pen too, as it's easier to into the bathroom. At the start of my classes, it was suggested by an instructor to use Scrivener, so I got it when the disbursement came in. $45 bucks and it's a lifetime lisc. that I can use both for school (APA style formatting), and for writing my stories. Several people here on GA uses the program too.

Also, I do notes, Outlines for each chapter, outlines for each arc in the story, and an outline for the whole story. Mainly so I can keep myself on Task.

I use Scrivener, and I think it's really useful for making outlines, what with the index card and cork board functions. I used to be terrible at making outlines, but now I've learned from my mistakes; it's easier to finish a book if you know where it's going. :P

Yeah, Nemesis 2 took me nearly five years to finish... Nemesis 3 I wrote in three weeks in October. Admittedly I was hypomanic at the time, but still.

What I learned today... I should never try to write a Hetero sex scene. Wrote it last night, let is stew overnight, talked to my content editor about, reread the scene, and now I'm turning into a "fade to black."

As for writing times. Being on disability, when I had more time than needed, I could do a 4000-7000 word chapter in a week. Since school started I'm lucky to be able to get a scene in a week. Not complaining about it, it just makes me focus on getting a scene done, and written better than normal. When I'm closer to the end, I'll start sending them to my editors for real. tim has read chapter one of my next story and gave me some great feedback on it.

Yup. That's when the meds started kicking my arse. I had it almost finished and then I just got stuck and didn't look at it for over four years. I managed some short stories and things for a while there, but then in the end I couldn't even do that, and that's when I vanished for two years. Off those awful meds now. Got my creativity back.

Yeah, when I was diagnosed with Bipolar II instead of Major Depressive Disorder, they weaned me off the anti-depressants and onto mood stabilisers. Those are actually working and are a) letting me be creative and b) not making me fat. Which feels all kinds of nice.

Hope everyone's enjoying their Saturday night! I'm once again staying up too late (though I had a long nap earlier), so I'm gonna crawl into bed now. Goodnight, everyone!:hug:
