    It Was a Holy Day

You create so much tension in this story over and over. The emotions in it vary from happy, to sad, homicidal anger to protective caring. Lightening it up all throughout are these totally hilarious one liners that really make it in my opinion. It's a rich universe you've created and I love being able to be a part of the process. Can't wait for more!
  2. This story made me laugh. It was light and funny. I've seen folks acting like fools in the store all the time and it made me think of how I probably looked to them as I shook my head and wondered if they had missed essential doses of some medicine they were supposed to be on!
  3. Oh please! Like you guys don't have those games you play. You so do! Not all guys are he likes me or I like him so I'm going for him flat out. I could name several guys just here on GA who do the coy, look at him/try to ignore him so he'll talk to me, bit. As for the sex scene, well let's just say I'll be waiting for your review!

    Chapter 9

Great chapter. Hot sex and then a real emotional wrench thrown in at the end. Poor Blaine and Levi. I know the road is only going to get rougher but sheesh, these guys can't seem to cut a break!
  6. Oh yes, old cats are definitely learning new tricks in this one. Though he's not old... just older than most of his clan. In my mind, late 20s. Most Carthera find their mates in their teen years to very early 20. Cavel is unusual for certain reasons you'll see later. As for your other question, this story is almost completely written. It's a short story, 3 maybe 4 chapters more. I will be posting weekly most likely, never any more than that though. No gaps in this story posting.
  7. Yes, the isolation is something that has created both the craving for touch and companionship and making him fear it. Cavel might have had his clan but he has his own brand of loneliness. I think they will be helping each other out in the end. Thanks so much for another review!!
  8. Oh yes. Jaguars are such an interesting mix of big cat/little cat. I researched heavily for this story so hopefully it will come through but not overwhelm the characters with the details I've been trying to add in. I love shifter type stories a lot, especially in modern settings but these guys are natural in nature so I wanted to mix that in this modern fantasy. I hope you like Ch. 2, thanks so much for the review!
  9. Cavel's breath was frozen in his throat as his gaze shifted from the swinging branches that were already settling to Saulle's smirking face. His body began to shake and his eyes were riveted on his second in command whose cocky expression faded into fear as he took in the sheer rage in Cavel's eyes. The entire group remained motionless until Cavel took one step toward Saulle; as soon as he moved they shifted away, leaving a wide space around the hapless victim of Cavel's fury. "You fucking id
  10. The double standards in our lives for different types of people is astounding. A druggie is a druggie. Someone who wants help will find it, the rest are a drain and waste of society all too often. Addiction is an absolute soul sucker, only the strong make it through.
  11. DD people don't tend to have much of a filter. They say what they want, do what they want a lot of the time. I respect that. Most of what we view adult behavior as is control, control, control. I'm not saying they don't worry about how others view them but or aren't hurt by fidiot's reactions but if they can they tend to call people on it which is great. I've done some work with Arc a long time ago, it was definitely a eye opener.

    Epilogue

Awww, thank you dear! They are not all like this though most of my stories do involve new relationships. Some fantasy, some modern, some romance, but all with a pair meeting and falling for each other. What can I say? I'm a sucker for those first meeting moments. Thanks so much for the review dear!!
  13. I love feedback as much as the next person. Is lack of feedback going to stop me from writing or posting? No. Will it maybe make me slow down a bit if I'm not as in love with the story to work on something else? Sure, sometimes. For me, writing is a hobby. It's fun, sure, but if I get all stressed about it that element of fun is gone and then why would I want to do it? Everytime I encounter a new author on GA and have a conversation with them I say, promote yourself. Post your chapter update in your status update, in a discussion forum, talk to people on-site, interact, review for others, get a beta reader, become a beta reader, any or all of the options above. Another good way to get feedback on a project if you aren't sure if you want to post is the Sneak Peeks area. When you get feedback, respond, respond, respond! Read the Writer's Corner topics on writing, improve, learn, pass on tips and knowledge you have. In other words, just BE here. The more you put into something the more you get out of it. I know some of the authors I have spoken to have passed this information on and that's great. I try to do at least 5 reviews a week, if not more. That's not a lot but then again I sometimes have a lot to do on GA other than getting to read (which I sometimes whine about) but every little bit helps. Often you can look at those authors who are wanting to remove stories or stop posting and see they aren't doing those things at all. As Tomas said, if we don't know the stories or author is there what do they expect? Squeaky wheel gets the grease, after all.
  14. Happy Birthday dear! I hope this year is even better than last year! Hugs!!!
  15. Oh look how pouty you are! Suck it up buttercup!!
  16. Ha! And you have to wait until next year to call me on it too, so I do like giving just the basic sketch of a character. Body type, hair color/style, eyes, clothing, that's usually about it. I prefer that in my own reading, it lets me superimpose my own vision on the character better which lets me have a better connection to them. I try to do the same with my own writing.Further writing does flesh out the differences between Bashta and Cavel and the rest of the clan. So don't worry, the confusion will not last long, I promise! I am really glad you enjoyed the first chapter, more to come soon. Thanks sooo much for reviewing!
  17. I will update soon, don't worry! All but the epilogue essentially is written for this story. I am really glad you liked it, thanks so much for leaving a review.
  18. Snickers, Cammy is a gurl! neener neener neener!
  19. Yeah, I knew beforehand. He took me and made me look at wedding rings the weekend before. Then he totally panicked when he was getting ready to ask me and avoided me all afternoon on the day he asked, screwing up his courage to say, "So when we getting married?" Ahh, younguns! To be fair he was only 22. It's not like I got all romantic. My 18 year old bitchy self slapped him with a comeback though, so all good, lol. Then I started planning our week long honeymoon on Maui. He wanted to go camping. Guess where we went? Anyway, point is, all couples are all different nowadays. Young, old, straight, gay, butch, fem, manly... it's all about two people together when it comes to marriage and how they get to it. As others have said, if it's right you'll know. Don't let anyone else tell you something should be done a certain way based on a stereotype. Going for what makes you happy is important!
  20. I don't think being the more 'manly' necessarily means most dominating or assertive in a relationship. That's your first flaw in your logic I see. I'll admit, Josh asked me but only because when he asked, "When are we going to get married," I said, "When you actually ask me". Technically I told him I'd marry him once he actually used the question form I may be the housewife but I control the money, I'm the more dominant parent (threatening to tell Daddy isn't scary but telling Mommy, oh yeah, not good). Josh picked out our first apartment, and our house and all the furniture whenever we had to buy any. Even straight relationships aren't always 'traditional'. I had a gay friend I worked with once. He was in the medical field and very swish sometimes, manicures, jewelry, he even did drag comedy shows sometimes. His boyfriend/husband was tall, dark, wore a leather jacket like a glove, and worked with his hands. My friend was older than him though, by a good 10 years. My friend asked him boyfriend to marry him, not the 'manly' man asking the more 'fem' one. Age, personality, and the interdynamics between two people is much more important than one simple aspect that you lay out. Relationships are rarely so simple as that.
  21. Thanks and Congrats to all the other winners too!! CJ... a very frilly goat will be headed your way this year... just saying, don't forget, payback is still coming!
  22. Great pic Ag! You look very rockin in the shades! Next time use a backlight feature if that was a camera. If it was the computer or phone, exceptional picture!

    Chapter 4

OMG, lol! Such a funny way to end a scene that was pretty tense at the culmination. I like that Andrew sort of threw out that quip at the end. It means he's losing some of his shyness with Ryan. Though I'd hope so if he got naked in front of him!!

    Chapter 3

Okay, now the straight guy is plotting to play stip poker with his roommate to get him naked and see his dick. The irony!

    Chapter 2

LOL. How guy. Obsessed with dicks, even if they're straight. I remember all the guys I knew growing up talking about it. It's funny to see it in writing, reminds me of those times! Good chapter. The flow and pacing is done well!
