    Chapter 2

Sometimes I have concrete places I get ideas, a sentence, a picture, a conversation or article I read... this one just came to me. Every story I write within the realm of the Carthera just seems to flow. I can't wait to share more with everyone! Thanks again hun!!

    Chapter 1

You know me, always trying to come up with another way to register the senses. How do things feel, what do you see or taste or sense? I have these stories in me in 3D and I strive to share them the same way. I'm so glad that at least in some ways I am successful! Thank you for the review!

    Chapter 9

How much more... hmmm, I dunno Velaku put up a valiant struggle but yes, it was Natham's turn to prove his devotion. I love to give characters a chance to face their tormentors and to prove they are stronger, no matter what course that defiance takes. This one... well, the cat deserved his fate!

    Chapter 8

Yes, yes. Cliffe extreme here. Natham is worth saving and I think Velaku is showing him that. Notice he doesn't argue too hard right? Velaku is just that convincing. Natham will come into his own though. He is just as much Velaku's mate and protector as Velaku is his.

    Chapter 7

Dark, violent, triumphant and yet... we're not safe yet. Small steps, right? I am glad the air of tension I was trying to create came through! Thanks for yet another great review!

    Chapter 6

And last chapter's loving came just for this chapter. They needed that strength to endure what comes. I know, I'm evil. I take the fact you said I wrote a scene you might have written as a huge compliment, thank you so much! You know how much I love your writing.

    Chapter 5

Oh yes, this is my sap chapter. I have to focus a bit on the guys. They deserve some loving.

    Chapter 4

And that's what I try to do when I write. I want to show how they grow, inside and out. Often meeting the person one falls in love with can make you realize all sorts of things about yourself. In this story I wanted to highlight the different ways a person can be weak and strong and how their partner can shore that up, getting the same in return!

    Epilogue

Thanks for reading and the review! I hate ending things and I always feel so awkward but stories must have some form of culmination. At this point I plan to come back to these guys, I like them too much not to, I simply have to find the time! If I keep getting great comments like I have tonight I don't think I'll be able to resist, it's a great motivator to read what people thought of the story. Thanks again!

    Story

Yay! That's been the typical response. It's not my usual fare for writing at all but I couldn't resist it when the idea came to me. That it fit the anthology was just icing on the cake. Thanks Rush, I'm glad I could give you a chuckle!
  12. I was a Leo, I'm still a Leo. Not surprising and a lot of the classic traits of that sign fit me. I wouldn't work well as anything else
  13. Woo hoo and Yay for you! Hard word work and lots of caffeine I bet!

    Epilogue

Yes, endings often come after a break in my writing, I have a hard time facing them myself. I try to make the happy endings believable and keep my 'character angst' within the realm of the not absurd while still bringing enough drama to create a good story. It's a fine line, I'm lucky to read voraciously so I often get fine examples of what to do and what not to do. I'm happy you enjoyed the story and thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a comment to let me know!

    Epilogue

Of course it's sappy! Haven't you read my other stories? I may be a sadistic Supreme Being but I am all about the happy endings. However... you sort of touched on the fact there could be more out there. I didn't tie up all the loose ends Thank you so much for all of the comments and thoughtful insights you've shared throughout the story. I always love hearing your take on everything.

    Chapter 21

Well, it's partly knowing the medical field and guns, and partly that I had a family member shot with a 22. I know what they can do and well... use what you know, right? I'm glad I got at least a few twists in on you, since I pretty much laid out the story as I went. I thought about keeping Alan alive to torture him a bit, I like the idea of your naughty pics. That would be funny and sadistic as hell. However, in this case I wanted closure. Since I get to be the Supreme Being in my stories and dance my little puppets to my heart's desire I got it. Don't I wish life worked that well! You campaign all you want, I still say CJ, Nephy, or even you have me beat! Uh huh, I said you!

    Epilogue

I definitely plan to come back to these characters. I want to expand the secondary ones, and yes, definitely more with Neri. Denise... I needed an older maternal person to counteract Dane's evil grandma. Everyone needs a soft loving hug once in a while from someone that reminds you of those days when being enveloped by those arms meant everything was going to be okay. I really appreciate your comments and being patient with my erratic posting schedule.

    Chapter 21

Yes, this time 'soon' really was soon! I'm glad you liked the ending. Alan deserved to die. Yeah, Charlie and his grandpa. Little twists for people to not really expect are absolutely essential. Thanks for the review!!

    Story

Hubris By Cia It was there again, following me. Tracking, pacing, moving as I moved and mirroring my every step. I darted to the side of the room to escape it but from the corner of my eye I could see it still there. It was waiting, right at the edge of my vision. It watched me; it was always looking back at me when I dared to peek. I was never alone. A schism had opened inside of me and I now operated on two levels. My mind was at once brilliantly lucid; able to think and reason
  20. He was never alone. Rage against that which torments him has broken him completely. His fate is decided.
  21. I like the detail on the house and wonder what, if any, role it has to play later. I also think that Ken is a devious man with someone going on in his head. He's capitulated wayyy too easily. It will be interesting to find out Can't wait to see ch. 8.

    Epilogue

"I can't believe it's finally here!" Dane said excitedly. "Me either," Tap laughed, reaching for Dane with both hands. Dane slapped at them, "Stop trying to grab me! I can't tie your tie if you keep moving." "I'm just so excited. Graduation, moving into your apartment next week and then college in the fall. I'm glad we got accommodated in the dorms," Tap said with a huge smile. "I told you we could have gotten an apartment, I can afford it," Dane pointed out. "But we don't need it

    Chapter 21

Dane jerked when a large heavy hand came down on his shoulder. He whipped his body around and lunged at the blurry figure of a man, unable to see clearly through the tears filling his eyes. "Easy son, easy," The man said. Dane paused, he knew that voice but it took him a minute to place it. The deputy! The older one, that’s it. Dane stood there panting as the deputy held him by the shoulders, "It's okay, you're safe." He waved two paramedics into the room and they rushed over to the two falle

    Chapter 3

Oh no, Natham is definitely central to the story. For me, dialogue is the hard part. I really work at that part of a story. I'm glad that the attempts are paying off!
