1. ditto on your explanation. I give you a plus too, but I have reached my quota for the day.
2. Its my name. I work with kids all day, and sometimes my creativity gets all used up. The night I finished reading one of Dom's stories at 4 or 5 am and decided to create an account before work must have been one of those times.
3. I agree, Mark. I think most of the time, guys who say something along those lines are fairly open to a friendship with a gay man. I love reading M/M stories and gay sex is part of my fantasy world (which my husband knows about and does his best to ignore), but I have ZERO desire to watch or read about lesbians. I have no desire to be hit on my another woman - I can appreciate another woman's beauty, and I have accepted compliments from a lesbian before, but anything beyond that would probably make me uncomfortable.
4. Between a and b, but tending towards the b. I think if A were what was out there, stories would be too similar. I enjoy the spice author's words add to a story. Its why I'm not a writer and why I appreciate good author's use of words. I can't express myself that way, and I enjoy reading things by people who can.
5. I am a shameless, un-apologizing whore for gossip. I am a frequent visitor on Perez's site. There is a line though, but most people can tell when its based in fact, and when its not. I get that sometimes its invasive, hurtful, and demoralizing. I do not think that celebrities should just have to deal because they asked to be famous. But, I just can't seem to not read it.
6. More often then not, I enjoy the stories where both men have very strong masculine traits. However, Jet Mykles' Heaven Sent series is one of my absolute favorites. It is Yaoi, and a few of the characters intentionally have a feminine flair. Just as all gay men are not feminine, flamboyant, or flaming ... some of them are. I appreciate the mix in fiction, as well as in life.
7. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSOju84Gq2A I love Mike Falzone and the Peppermint Trick. My fav song is "Ballad of a Townie." The like I posted here is a cover (of which he has done tons), because its the best quality. His album is on I-Tunes.
8. If I ever tried to write anything, it would be M/M slash. It is the fantasies from my head, played out on paper, and often better than my own imagination. I love the romance between two men, followed up by passionate, steamy sex. From what I have read (and I have more than 80 m/m e-books - sick, i know, if you ever want to e-lend, I'm your gal), male authors write the best sex scenes, but so far the majority of my fav authors are female, for the combination of romance and sex.
9. Robert. Pattinson. (As an added bonus, he is in both series!) But, no, really. I guess if I absolutely HAD to pick it would be Twilight. But, I LOVE Harry Potter, too. I get sucked into both worlds routinely and have read both series, beginning to end at least 4 times each.
10. Don't say that! They just gotta. *pouts in a corner*
11. lots of story building to sex, more story, more sex, etc. etc ITFB was so unbelievably frustrating for me (though still my favorite Dom story) because the tension was there and then the "fade to black" happened, which isn't typically dom. to this day I'm still left wanting to see through the darkness of that faded black! sex, sex, sex doesn't interest me
12. 6, but there are always two of us in the bed (3 if you count my sneaky son)
13. Zerophilia - I just watched it and its great. More bisexual than gay themed - but great nonetheless. Also, it just made me discover Kyle Schmid. Probably the hottest guy I have seen in a while.
14. Sucks, but it doesn't have to happen everywhere. We had two openly gay lacrosse players on the men's team when I was in high school and that was more than ten years ago. They said they did get teased, but no more than any other team member. Sometimes it was about their sexuality, but never to the point they felt singled out. We had many conversations about it and, for the most part, the guys on the team were supportive. In college, pretty much every team had gay members in both the mens and womens leagues. To be fair though, I went to UMaine, Farmington which happens to have an extremely open and tolerant community that its known for. I am not, by any means, saying it doesn't happen, but there are cases out there where it is getting better.
15. Lacey, I like your shirt! Where did you get it? I also like the hair. Please don't do Bieber!
16. Shelter
17. As a straight woman, I can tell you that I have no interest in reading f/f stories. I saw the reccomended story and I think I will try it just so that I can open my mind a bit. Even discounting the sex, which I wouldn't be interested in, I am not sure I care about the romanticism either. Whereas, the thought of two guys making love and behaving romantically is a huge turn on. Reading the emotions GA authors frequently elicit between characters brings me back for more. However, I do think someone could post a story about lesbians here, but they would probably, though not definitely, be hard-pressed to develop a big following. Most people aren't going to riot or protest the presence of something "different" here. Hopefully.
18. You know what would make you even smarter? Completing Perks before you start college when you really won't have time to finish it.... But, no really, I do think that there are a lot of people out there who aren't reaching their potential. It takes a lot of time to be well read enough to make points and argue with the brightest minds out there. I find myself taking time to answer questions and researching my responses, especially in the soapbox where things get so heated. Here, I hope, people feel comfortable putting their opinions out there and have confidence in their ability to defend their viewpoint. Besides, taking the time gives my coco puffs a chance to make chocolate milk. The best part of the whole meal.
19. It was in the upper 80s today with no wind, but there wasn't much humidity. Still spent the day at the lake because in Maine, that's hot!
20. Tomorrow is steamers and lobsters straight off the boat (I am from ME after all.) I am making pasta salad as well. Sunday is pizza (we'll be beachin' it in Ogunquit all day - no time to grill!). Monday is venison steaks (yuck) for the boys and grilled chicken shish-ka-bobs for the girls. This will include marinated portabello mushrooms for all. YUM-O!
21. SO EXCITED! I went to see Eclipse at midnight and squealed like a teenager when the premiere came on the big screen.
22. Its going to be 48 tonight and 72 tomorrow. Beautiful, if we could have gotten rid of the total washout that was the weekend!
23. Janet did not disappoint. Joe Crocker was great. I realized I did want Crystal to win when they announced that Lee won. The fact that he was crying endeared him to me though.
24. I have been reminded again of how hot Tim Urban really is. Did anyone else notice how quickly Christina showed everyone up when she started singing? Loved Avril and Crystal. Perfect Pairing. Looking like a fool with your pants on the ground and William Hung? Perfect??? There are rumors Janet will be on... This has been AWESOME!!
