  1. This is too funny, it just got delivered to my mailbox from netflix this afternoon!
  2. Oh, I absolutely agree. My point was that even the men we consider masculine (how many women/gay men can say that Ty Beckford is not gorgeous) have pretty, feminine features. Those eyes could easily be female.
  3. My boss did it four 1/2 years ago and on the first attempt ended up with her beautiful daughter. My cousin (also bought the insurance) and tried 4 times before it worked. His kids (twins) are fantastic. Here is too wishing 2011 is fruitful for you guys!
  4. I agree. I identify as straight and I haven't had any true sexual experiences with a woman (beside a few, attention seeking kisses in college - closed mouth). But, I do find myself looking twice at androgynous women or even, "Butch" women. I have even had some vague fantasies that don't get too specific - I have them occasionally though. I also find myself appreciating a beautiful male. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.concreteloop.com/images/2006/ty4.jpg&imgrefurl=http://concreteloop.com/2006/01/new-tyson-beckford-pictures&usg=__bx-6qVP_MEI1dwYP_WsT6LgXwuY=&h=450&w=600&sz=71&hl=en&start=0&sig2=eMqSdIJwIAtH4Y3szErMzA&zoom=1&tbnid=E2TKRASIyZwVNM:&tbnh=142&tbnw=182&ei=3UIfTdqJNoT48Ab5x9HCBA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dty%2Bbeckford%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D635%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=522&oei=3UIfTdqJNoT48Ab5x9HCBA&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=102&ty=103 yummy Ty Beckford's eyes are distinctly feminine and those lips, in smaller form, are soo kissable and could easily be on a female's face. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_OMLYyLC8HTo/SOOVvfzltmI/AAAAAAAANqQ/kmtCB7nd8UE/s400/male%2Bmodel.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.model6809.net/foot-modeling.html&usg=__PZ8sf8ZLPwpDsC2HReEl-HcE3vU=&h=400&w=400&sz=28&hl=en&start=22&sig2=jDKvyBC2mWVIzjyt3fdFTQ&zoom=1&tbnid=dYSdOXarWkbFUM:&tbnh=142&tbnw=142&ei=REMfTYisNYWKlwf92fjCDA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbeautiful%2Bmale%2Bmodels%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D635%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C409&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=370&oei=LEMfTbuPC4K78gaqz_nEDQ&esq=2&page=2&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:22&tx=84&ty=67&biw=1280&bih=635 gorgeous http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/6500000/Hot-male-models-hot-man-models-6586428-398-297.jpg&imgrefurl=http://model7126.net/fashion-model-posing.html&usg=__tfKyoTN6oDAC-0MKE3EWGyA_xTo=&h=297&w=398&sz=61&hl=en&start=65&sig2=A5lZpm0TnRNNUV-Juw4usQ&zoom=1&tbnid=MOhxGxtnV7oMLM:&tbnh=120&tbnw=161&ei=oEMfTdHPBYSClAeno53-Cw&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbeautiful%2Bmale%2Bmodels%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1280%26bih%3D635%26tbs%3Disch:10%2C1746&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=122&vpy=268&dur=649&hovh=194&hovw=260&tx=121&ty=119&oei=kkMfTbMow_fwBoCTyMoN&esq=4&page=4&ndsp=21&ved=1t:429,r:15,s:65&biw=1280&bih=635 another example (sorry about the attachments, I still can't figure out how to really make them work) Its seems a bit much to call androgyny disgusting, even if you aren't particularly attracted to it. I ended up with a pretty masculine looking man for a life partner, but I like to think I can appreciate beauty in many forms.
  5. About to start re-reading Changing Lanes after seeing Eric's name mentioned in an old Shadowgod forum posting. Completely excited!
  6. I like it!
  7. Yummy! He has grown up quite well.
  8. Hmmm... Yummy!
  9. Wine and books - different place for a little while - after making sure I couldn't do anything else to fix the stress.
  10. Happy Happy!:king:
  11. My Alma Mater .... The University of Maine at Farmington - its known for its open minded, welcoming student body and faculty. See the below link! READI Right from the school's homepage
  12. My God, I was on my way to bed and now I have to go read at least that passage before I can sleep. Thanks.
  13. Its a tie between Dennis from In The Fishbowl, not The Lo(n)g Way, and Nels from With Trust. I also have crushes on their significant others, Travis and Milo. They are the tie for second place.
  14. Happy Happy! Make it count!
  15. 5 ... I was born a few weeks after Reagan took office. I remember "voting" in the second grade and watching the elections on TV when the first Bush was elected. I remember actually "debating" with my parents when Clinton was elected (I was 12 and passionate). I remember the excitement of going to the polls to vote in my first presidential election in 2000 and the crushing disappointment when Bush was elected. And the utter defeat when he was re-elected in 2004. I won't soon forget the fervor surrounding Obama's campaign, either. I am proud to say I helped elect the first black American president. In the future I hope to see the first woman (preferably NOT Palin).
  16. Nephy is right - you have a great smile. Without actually having seen the two of you together, I think you guys must be adorable together!
  17. Most home school kids where I am from still take part in specials (art, music) at school and participate in sports and/or clubs. They are not socially isolated. The parents that isolate their children to the point where they have so few experiences with their peers ARE doing a disservice to their child, but they are probably few and far between. My husband's best friend Jeff was home schooled and he did fantastic in college and has a really successful career now. As far as the point in this thread, for all though who continue to bring up better test scores I'd like to remind you that the majority of same sex schools are private. Students are accepted based on merit. Even charter schools don't accept everybody and can pick and choose who they educate. This, in combination, with a potentially larger pool of great teachers makes the scores incomparable to other schools. edited to add - working at FU also gave me some insight and I could clearly see the groups while working at the Rec Plex and eating on campus. Some boys have great experiences in same sex schools (same with girls) and I don't think they don't have a place in society. But, I still believe its better for kids to be exposed on a day to day basis with their peers of all genders, walks, and persuasions. They will have to do it in the real world. Honestly, think of debates you have in high school that will give you practice for debates in the boardroom later in life. I think the woman who debated in high school with boys and girls is better prepared to handle herself than the woman who debated against only other girls. And, Cam, no offense, but your experience at Prep seems fantastic - but, its certainly shouldn't be seen as every boy's experience there. My sister's fiance, his 3 best friends, and my brother's best friend all attended Prep and ALL of them say cliques definitely existed, as they did in my high school (F airfield - before the made two of 'em). One of them spent 2 years at prep (freshmen and senior) and 2 years at Trumbull High (sophomore and junior) and he said the cliques, harassment, teasing, etc where comparable at both places. A boys school does not necessarily equal less clique-i-ness. edited to add - working at FU gave me some insight as well. I worked in the RecPlex, dined on campus, and hung out with a fantastic lady in the mailroom - the cliques were visible to me then, as well.
  18. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I feel like Gehayi's points were a bit over the top. Yes, both women stated that they were not on the "straight" end of the spectrum. While I don't write M/M romance, I very much enjoy reading it and I am on the straight end of the continuum. I am glad that the article was edited to say women instead of straight, but it seems more like the author was trying to make the point that they were female and not that she was ignoring the bisexuality piece. An awful lot of people read romance novels for the sex scenes. I do not choose male erotica becuase of the abundance of sex scenes, but I certainly hope to read some sex when I buy a m/m romance novel. I don't believe the author of the article was insinuating that Beecroft only writes for the porn, but I do believe she was saying that for a significant number of people, part of the allure is the sex. I understand that there is a distinction between sex and porn - but have you read some of the prolific m/m authors out there? I think many of their scenes are much more explicit than you find in a typical heterosexual romance. Not all - this is not a blanket statement - but I am not sure why Gehayi was so quick to take offense to what was clearly a statement made half in jest - and certainly far from false. Dirty does not equal bad. Although I admit this is a strong statement. So? They still look like Fabio. Same difference - and I do think she is right, although some gay men are certainly more interested in these stories than the ones she is referring to. They are out there and would probably describe themselves the same way. There is no getting around it - I am sure many don't look like that, but the statement isn't untrue. Ridiculous. Yes, we all know it has been around forever, but it got popular and prolific with the onset of slash. Ummm... Can we say nit picky? In my opinion - it is responses like this that give feminism a bad name. Pick your battles - the ones chosen in this article seem to be a bit of a stretch.
  19. Of the option given, I will go with Unos for their crust and sauce. But the best pizza in this world is made at Mama Mina's in Fairfield, CT. Its a new your style thin crust that is just doughy enough as to not be crunchy. The sauce has just a hint of a kick and the cheese is fresh and not straight mozzarella. They use incredible sausage for the sausage and mushroom which is my favorite. The clams casino (with red, not white sauce) is also to die for!
  20. Feel free to skip the post if you can't decipher is meaning. Honestly, I think those are pretty few and far between.
  21. Random Hugs on your birthday! .., late hugs
  22. Amen. I will hold on for the ride, but my thrill at the end will be Corey and Jake. *PLEASE* I am mostly joking, I haven't read a CJames story yet that I haven't enjoyed.
  23. I admitted its not rational. No one is perfect. If celebrity gossip were banned, I wouldn't die from not reading it. But, I'll probably keep reading it as long as its out there. I think part of it may be seeing two beautiful people fall in love and have pretty kids, people who we see over and over again in different roles, part of it maybe seeing people with tons of money still have problems too, and part of it is just plain nosiness.
  24. To your first response to the article quote ... Maybe some women feel that way, but I defiantly don't. Do you think that men who enjoy f/f sex hate their bodies? I guess there are negative cultural associations with the female body, but I'm not sure there are all that many of us who avoid our bodies to such an extent. To your second response ...I think this was a unique view taken by someone who is bisexual and confused about her identity. I don't think most women or men, for that matter, are confused about their gender identity, although transgendered people are out there. And to your last ... One of them is married, so her sexual options are fairly open. I don't know that I'd say slash is sex for me, I have plenty of it with husband, but it is my sex of choice in reading, watching, and many fantasies.
