1. Big fan of El Sistema. So heartbroken that economics and politics have dealt it such a blow. I haven't heard any news about Maestro José Antonio Abreu in forever - hope he's still with us. This one of the beautiful moments from BBC Proms
2. If you're on IEMs, headphone, or big speakers, that Lay Concert Organ, added by the conductor adds considerable gravitas! Steve

5. Thanks a bunch all. Cheers! Steve/Jim
6. Hi Folks - Quick question to the knowledgeable here. Jim and I live in the wonderfully redneck, and backwards state of Texas. After 22 years together, we wanna get married. The advantage to us living in Texas is that more progressive Federal Laws will soon supersede backwards/bigoted state law. From those with the knowledge, of the US gay-marrying states, which is the most friendly, or maybe just the most efficient and legal with the idea of a out-of-state gay couple poppin in for a few days, spending couple thousand, getting married, and high-tailing it back home? Thanks so much!! Steve/Jim
7. YAY!! First one in 83 years!
8. To my friends that I am honored to have in my life. May the season warm your soul, bring love to your heart and bless you with everything this life has to offer. Steve and Jim
9. Jim and I at tonight's Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas concert. Way too warm for suits.
10. IDK Bill. I saw Pritchard back in 2009 too, along with Susan Boyle, and Diversity and such, and simply loved his audacity. However, in this present case, De Leon seems so much more powerful in his delivery. I suppose I'm biased - truthfully. I've searched myself to try and discover why I'm so drawn to DeLeon's performance. Puccini's wonderful arias always featured the laments and sadness of a woman who'd lost, squandered, or got screwed outta the love of her man. Lord only knows if de Leon is gay or not. His FB page features a LOT of Lady Gaga, but no matter. When I saw de Leon sing of this loss from Puccini's opera "Gianni Schicchi" the aria "Mio Babbino Caro", I felt a kindred spirit so-to speak - it touched me. I can't really tell - some of his performance sounds 'falsetto', but then other parts sound almost "castrati", with the power. Color me "confused", but happy that Andrew did well, and the folks didn't cringe when a MAN sung a traditionally female part. Steve
11. I love this kid. I'm a big opera fan and it's so wonderful to see it touch and influence one sooo well. The look? It would turn opera on its ears! With the amount of make-up used in opera, he'd fit right in!! I about lose it when Andrew is holding back his emotions at the end.
12. The Hacker is more coward than anything else. He's fears his own buried attractions to the same-sex will eventually go away. How sad and pathetic. Just a coward. Steve³
13. Good information Myr. Although I'm not a coder or author, I am a Trekker and most certainly a GEEK. I was so proud to learn that Gerrold, besides being a great writer, has another trait we all know and appreciate- He's gay!! I also knew that my favorite episode, The Trouble with Tribbles had to have been written by someone very special when I watched the 2nd Season episode of Star Trek: TOS, way back in 1968. Steve
14. Jim and I at last night's Dallas Symphony Orchestra Christmas concert.

17. Happy Birthday my gorgeous Darlin Douw! Make it a Celebration you won't soon forget!! Steve³
18. Not always James. One of my best friend's gorgeous little brother at age 23, fell hook, line and sinker for a man 40(!!) years his senior. That was 12 years ago. Just so you know, Marcus was WAY more successful than Mario (his senior). He went through college in the mid-90's, got with some DOT COM company, made tons o' $$ during the Internet Bubble, and cashed out at the proper time, so that he and Mario could retire, which they did in 2002. Now Marcus does DJ'ing as a hobby and Mario is still an artist (he's 75 now I think). They own a large loft of sorts in urban San Francisco, and some sort of lake property out of the city (not sure, maybe june something). Marcus' brother Art told me in January that Marcus and Mario got married before Prop 8 passed. Marcus was/is a truly gorgeous boy/man of Hispanic heritage. Jim and I never quite understood the attraction, but the two of them are still happy now after all these years, and live quite well. Art and his wife always have a place to stay, and have a great time when they visit. Steve³

23. To say I love classical music is so totally not necessary. The folks who know me here know that I'm passionate about it. This brings a lot of thoughts to mind. 1) TED Awards - How I found one of my favorite orchestras, The Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra of Venezuela (TED 2007) 2) Benjamin Zander! - I have his entire Mahler Cycle from Telarc records. Never heard his voice. 3) Passionate music playing! Watching the audience feel what I've felt for decades 4) Pleased that Sky brought this to us. Steve³
24. Love it!! Steve³
