No, sadly, very sadly we had to leave for employment sake. Now in Calgary, Canada; the saddest, laziest city i have ever lived in! ( sorry you asked now, aren't you!) You are right re chapters! 21 and 22 give me error messages! Worse than cliffy's!😆 i am sure the gay author's gods will sort it.....

So few things learned: sounds like Lance is more than just school boy homophobic Bart and Robert seem to have an innate balance/ying-yang thing going, however even it has its limits. While i am sure indigenous peoples have their share of homophic pricks, living in Darwin NT, we certainly never encoutered it. In fact on more than one occasion the opposite! The letter and "forgery" worries me. Dont know why yet. Hmmm Great read, as ever😍

Barts mother sounds like, given time, she'll come round. That is if Bart and Robert live long enough... given the rant about no gay stories with happy endings, I am hoping like hell this story has a happy ending? (And I mean happy ever after ending, not a rub-and-tug happy ending!) Assuming the brake "failure" was Lance related, I am looking forward to karma striking back big time there....

Your destruction of the majority of the gay canon was brief and to the point! 😆 And the discussion on ageing , coupledom and what the world is missing.. excellent read.

Carters mind is now a chaos of confusion, or, he has clarity at last....

Great story, great characters. Thanks

What a great description of a successful relationship. It is wonderful when you meet people who have found that level of contentment. And hes right its not about orientation its about innate compatibility and the desire to keep working at it!
-
"Gruesome sickness"; very accurate! But even after 18+ years still seems to be about! Getting away from it all will be the best thing for their comparatively new relationship. And I love Bart, even if others have their doubts about him.

Two weeks, yes, bliss? Hmmm no so sure! I do love Monique , "i don't want to go into mourning; i don't look good in black!" Roberts self doubts about his relationship are worrying. While I understand the "im not good enough" feelings, think about what that says about your beloved; not flattering (hes hapy with mediocre) and not rational (he's insane).
-
Thank you for relieving the tension. Nice to read a common sense discussion of difficult subjects. Bloody rare among our political elite at the moment.... Great read. Looking forward to the days ahead.🤗

Monique is a mother... Sanjay, like most fathers (well, me as a father), can force themselves to see the actions of their children through a rational filter. They may not like it, but they can see the justification. Mother will do the same thing, however motherhood is very different to fatherhood and comes with very different drivers. So rationally mothers can see it, but the filter of "my baby", changes things. Of course this is all stereotypical and there are ranges on both sides. But I'd suspect this is why Monique is coming through as less understanding/sympathetic.

the Christmas tradition thing is interesting. Growing up we had many, but television wasn't one of them, neither was snow. The beach house (this is in Australia, so Christmas is mid summer) didn't have television until I was in my very late teens. So while my partner talks about "traditions" watching Miracle on 34th (?) st, and a "something" that stole Christmas , we had traditions of sugar on toast at 6am, swimming before breakfast, etc. As far as your typos @R. Eric, they add a certain frisson to the reading... my mind suddenly comes to a halt as a word that just doesn't work comes into the sequence. Weirdly, I try and make it make sense before I realise, nope, just ain't right! certainly makes for increased concentration! keep going, love your stuff!

Two points: First the most grievous and appalling piece of cultural imperialism: American hot chocolate! How could you so corrupt the poor people of Makarovia with that yuk of a ikky mucky blah. Surely you could have been enlightened enough to introduce them to the absolute heaven, like at the level of sex type good, that is swiss and italian hot chocolate. That is the nearest thing to god given culinary perfection! The people lf Makarovia deserve better! The second point is that i think the children of Makarovia "expect" their letters to be delivered, "except" doesn't quite work. (Top of chp, line two as I read it.) Addendum, second thoughts; sex is better than swiss/italian hot chocolate, but only just....

Amazing to get two gifts on Valentines Day: , my beloved of 18+ years remembered this year for the very first time AND I get an episode of Granger. My cup truly runneth over! That said, Cavendish has serious issues, not all of them of his own doing..... Great read, Thanks

A mack truck is way too fast for slime like Lance, slower more painful is better, giving them time to rethink....

All I can do is smile....😃!

The sound of great sex from the pov of a gay bloke in love. Wonderful!😆

What a perfect way to come out. To a friend. A friend that cares for you. Not just the next nick on a bedpost. But with the amazement of "coming out" our hero is not going to find it easy effectily going back kn the box until things can be resolved. He has only two terms of school, but a teenager would find that an interminable time to keep himself contained. An interesting path ahead. Great writing Congrats.

you'd hope that everyone would have a partner like Adam; able to talk, point out errors, ask questions, but never never imply that he thinks less of his partner. I suspect, if Eric can get over his prejudices, Eric and Andy will do well....
-
That last conversation between Roberts parents was one of the most beautiful pieces of writing. Concern, love, awareness, happiness, preparedness for whatever happens. Everything you could want in parents and as a child. Great story. Thanks
-
Is that how you remember school? Rigby Taylor is certainly drawing a picture of school pretty close to what I recall. Except no girls where I went.... and i do t recall a single taecher that interested me other than intellectually!

I find it unimaginable that parents can treat children like that. My two boys did some extraordinary things, but however much they were chastised, they were never beaten and they never doubted they were loved.

great tussle scene with a perfect ending! I'd guess that, at this point its Carter or no one!! Hope his dream comes true before he explodes..
-
why oh! why do I get a sense of impending doom? I can almost see you @Aceinthehole leading us down a beautiful garden path of harmony and love only for it to end in a dark hole, and we will be watching Teddy go through this all over again.... Loving a mentally unstable addict is not for the fainthearted. Perhaps I am in a post SOTU mood where nothing seems good , whereas in fact you do have a blazing light at the end of the tunnel.... . great read. Thanks.
