  1. Is that a legit position? I don't watch rugby so I wouldn't know hehe.
  2. I love violin music. If I was there, I would have stopped.
  3. Somehow the wrong snakes came to mind... The place looks so peaceful.
  4. Yes, I would because the one thing I'd hate to happen is for me to miss my soul mate as I go through life! I'd do anything to make sure it happened.
  5. The Good Son. I remember watching that as a kid. Thinking about it now, I probably would pick the nephew if I had to save one. But I suppose it would depend how much I loved one or the other. Sometimes love blinds you to faults.
  6. Running without at least briefs on would be horrible... Not to mention they might kick the wrong balls.
  7. Oh, so it is just a small project. I was wondering if it would really be a movie. Ah well...
  8. I don't know if everyone knows this cause I certainly did not until yesterday haha. And I wish I learned it all those months ago when I started reading here. I'm sure there is more than a handful of us that cannot stay by the computer/connected to the internet while reading a story. Most, such as myself, probably copy the story to something like MS Word so we can read it elsewhere (in my case, I like to read on my phone). There is an option to show a whole story (instead of individual chapters). If you're on the first page, at the very top will be a print option that says either Chapter or Story. If you click Story, it will show all the chapters in one single page which will allow you to copy the whole thing without having to load each chapter individually. Heaven sent if you ask me. Hope someone else is enlightened by this (or else, I'll feel very much like an idiot).
  9. That's not long for you? lol. I don't think i even let my bangs hit my eyes.
  10. Never too late to be a child acto.... nevermind.
  11. I voted Others because Angels aren't there! (Do they count as mythical? Hehe.)
  12. Damn haha. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately?) my hair isn't curly. It's in that wavy range where it isn't straight enough to be... uhh... straight... but not wavy enough to be curly.
  13. Short usually because it's wavy when long. I can't seem to find a good style for wavy hair.
  14. My style is I have two word documents open at all times while writing. In the first one, I write the entire story in a numbered outline i.e. P. Jacob is Born 1. Recollection of Adam's Rescue 2. Adam's Departure from the Mage City with his Teacher 3. Arrival at the Human Settlement 4. Confrontation with Jacob (Above outline is an actual excerpt from my outline for Adamagika. It stretches all the way down to the last chapter of the story.) Also included in this first document is an Atlas of story which includes names of people and descriptions of them and relevance in the story Adam
  15. Oh... I've just missed half my life.
  16. I noticed it holds the highest number of members online at the same time (449). I'm just curious what happened then to get such a huge figure like that compared to the much smaller figures we see nowadays?
  17. Now that makes me sad.
  18. Where I come from there is usually a strong sense of extended family where you can have several generations living under the same roof. From what I've seen, these kinds of structures really help develop children emotionally especially since they get to interact with cousins/aunts/uncles/grandparents frequently. I think there's greater emphasis on the nuclear families in the west so in most cases the responsibility of caring for the child falls squarely on the parents - not something everyone can do. On a side note, the whole issue of suing someone else is not as big a concern here as it probably is abroad. That is why for example it is said that we have some of the bravest (from an outsider's perspective) doctors in the world because they will do anything to try and save their patient's lives without much fear of being sued. There are still some that sue of course but it's not very often. Of course this can go both ways but I think it would be terrible if someone I knew (who could have lived) died because his doctor hesitated fearing legal action being done on him. I can't be sure but I think this "I will sue you if I think you did something wrong" attitude is one of the reasons healthcare fees in the states are awfully expensive (they need a buffer for legal fees in case of lawsuits). This might just be speculation on my part.
  19. Agree on that. Dostoyevsky anyone? Haha.
  20. Waah! Damn! Haha. My lead character in the story I'm working on currently has a somewhat dry description of having brown hair and brown eyes (only mentioned because it's relevant to the plot). Nothing else primarily though because I want the reader to imagine him the way they want (like if they want to put their face in his shoes or something like that, I know I do that sometimes ).
  21. Thanks. That's one good perspective of it. My ultimate goal is to write better. I tend to be image the scenes of my stories in my head like a movie and I try to translate them into words but often I like to plow from one scene to the next probably because there are so many bouncing in there at the moment. I also tend to not enjoy books that are far too descriptive (a reason I never finished Tolkien). And I guess I have had 3-4 years of training to write in a no-nonsense, direct to the point manner having a degree in business management. Communication classes tend to make you say more with less without the unnecessary frills. Something for the business world though and not necessarily books (unless it's a business book maybe? ). On a side note, I'm interested in reading your story, Mages of the Acedemy, when I first came across it in efiction. I've decided though to abstain from reading it (and every other fantasy story out there unless it catches me by surprise i.e. Nephylym's Hostage where the fantasy part doesn't happen until Ch. 10 or something!) until I finish Adamagika so that the plot isn't influenced by other similar themed stories. There is even a Mage Academy in my story though it isn't the focus of the story so much as an element in the plot. The lives of my characters in this story tend to revolve around events outside of school. Thanks again and regards!
  22. Yeah after reading some of the Anthologies (at #19) so far, I've just begun to realize that I felt like my writing is in the [A] category and I was worried it might be a little too simple, perhaps too elementary. I'm not a pro-writer and I've never even taken a class that helps but improving my writing style never really hurts. Just wondered if it was time to start shifting to .
  23. Are you more of the [A] He had blond hair, deep blue eyes, and a perfectly white teeth. His face was undoubtedly handsome. I wanted him and he wanted me. At that moment, we were in love. or His hair was blond. It clung to his face with the softness of velvet. I looked into his deep blue eyes and saw myself reflected in its beauty. His smile showed perfectly white teeth that suggested rigorous hours spent caring for his dental hygiene. As we stared into each other's eyes, I saw desire in those beautiful blue gems. They seemed to say "take me, take me now!" In that moment frozen in time, we were in love and nothing else mattered. I must admit, I think I'm more of an (a) reader/writer. I tend to prefer things simpler and more direct (good plot being a must!) Edited because ( B ) became (
  24. That was incredibly sweet. For some reason, I always find "old people romances" more real and moving. You know it's not about the sex but the companionship which is great. I'm glad they got a second chance.
