    Truth

Oh my that was a chapter - that was perhaps the best one so far in terms of pacing, flow, dialogue, etc. The information came out as needed, but it was believable and easy to follow. I feel bad for them both, but mostly for Rick. Despite not wanting to, he got mixed up with Ben and from the way things went, he seems to think they don't have a future - why else would he worry he might not get another chance? Problem is Ben is trying to deal with too much on his own and only subconsciously recognizes what Rick is to him. And nice bomb shell at the end! THAT should be a fun scene coming up. I give this chapter two snaps.
  2. Lots of new stuff is 6 & 7 - yeah I gotta do them both here cause I'm stupid - sorry. Several things struck me - Ben has really over come a lot - but he seems the wrong person to be a counselor - he has too many unresolved issues of his own. The whole notion of forcing kids to go to school in what is for lack of a better term a locked unit where there isn't enough staff to keep the at risk kids from being preyed upon is - um - IDK - wrong? Maybe it's cause I grew up in the burbs in a time when being expelled or suspended wasn't cool. IDK. Ben has a lot of good friends who haven't ignored him, just gave him space. Ben's first thoughts were of Rick, but yet he never really let's Rick know how much he cares - but I get why. He did that with Will and Will is a psycho. Must be hard being Ben. Finally, if will power and prayer mean anything Skipper's gonna make Ben pull through by dint of wanting it. Yeah Rick - don't usually go for the big buff burly menz, but yum, send him my way if Ben don't want him err wait, nevermind, just yeah Rick
  3. Why are we talking about this? Isn't everyone buff and beautiful on line??
  4. Sorry my eyes glazed over reading the rugby stuff - I'm guessing you played but yikes that was information overload. Ben wasn't the only one going The feel good moments don't last do they? I mean Ben seems happy around Rick - even if he tries to pretend he isn't and you have his friends getting together and having an intervention and making him go have fun for a few days. Then when he finally agrees, you have him relive his childhood drama and then you leave him a bloody, possible dying mess. eeek! What do you have against poor Ben anyway?
  5. Geez oh man, you don't skimp on the chapters do you? I mean holy information Batman, there was a lot going on there. So Will is a douche, - a big douche, SO glad Rick tossed him on his bum, seems like everyone else is too. I even think Ben was happy - only problem I see now, is Rick becoming the same thing - overly controlling - I mean he saw this side of Ben before he knew about Will. Question - and yes you need to answer this - did Will and Ben meet before or after he sold the company? I mean was he filthy stinking rich when they met or did they meet before? Just curious. Oh and nice end to the chapter
  6. Haha, well I don't mean to suggest they won't stay together, but who'd have thought they'd almost break up like they did? No plans for a sequel right yet, but I never say never I have plans in the works for a spin off so there is that, and maybe another one, but I might see myself find my way back to Jason and Peter. Who knows.
  7. Thank you - glad you liked it. And yes, Peter did come to his senses, seems the boys took some time to both be on the same page, but they got there eventually. Now the question is can they Stay there
  8. Throws up - his hands in defeat. NVM. I give up, I'll just go crawl in a hole some where and keep quiet.
  9. Cailen wrote one about Second Shot - which Dannsar said Trevor would take offense to. So I was 'complaining' [not really] that who it's me who should take offense since I wrote Sec. Shot. Though I'm sure some folks get confused. SO long post short - no need to be sorry, no need to make it up to me I'm all good - though you can still 'make up' with me if you like.
  10. Yeah but Dad isn't his name, it's a title -- I think the younger set is way more apt to just shrug and go - okay and? Especially brothers who are close. That's my take and I'm sticking to it
  11. Well I don't think I showed you the soccer fields I had in mind cause they aren't around here, but the play ground/park across from Peter's apartment was one of the things we saw. Well about Jason's insecurities, he is still feeling his way with Peter. First real relationship ever so he's bound to have issues or so I thought
  12. I love Darryl too, pity he plays for the wrong teeam Then again, he is a better friend/best friend then BF. He went through a few girls during the story.
  13. FYI, lest anyone think I'm mad, I thought it was cute.
  14. What are you will to offer me for that information?
  15. Does that depend on how much older? I mean a week? A year? 3 years? I guess I'm asking cause what if you're dating a guy 6 months younger/older does that count? Does it matter if they were born in the same year or not i.e. they were born in December of one year, you in January of the next? I'm just curious, because my partner and I are less than 2 years apart - he being younger, but to have that be determining factor for 16+ years would seriously impact our sex life Not that I'm even admitting we do that - be on top or bottom - just saying Andy
  16. Everyone agreed it tasted fine, but this is the first time it came out like Pecan Soup instead of Pecan Pie - this is what i get for not using the regular deeper glass pie pan and using way more nuts than called for. That and um yeah we left the oven open way too long when we were putting the pie in the ovem Okay so you made your our caramel sauce??? Geez, I don't even make my own pie crust. Are you going to grow your own Pecans next So how did it come out?? I'm gonna bet it was way better than mine given the home made sauce you used. I'm gonna try that next time just to see the difference - woo hoo - new recipe Sorry you burned your hands.
  17. Forget Trevor, what about me? I mean I know y'all think Trevor wrote it, but um yeah it was my baby, not his. Definitely not finding it cool. okay so maybe I did smirk a bit. lol
  18. Let me add my greetings and salutations to the Frosty - who we all adore by the way Welcome and enjoy. What Frosty said - oh and welcome and happy reading to you as well
  19. Wow that was some review, Thank you. That clearly took thought and a bit of time so it is greatly appreciated. To address your points that I want to respond to - too long - agreed. There was things I've learned from this - like - we really didn't need the entire Christmas with the family and though I enjoyed writing that part - it should have been a short story/fill in story rather than chapters in the 'book'. There are other examples of this along the way so the comment was spot on. --- Sex - yes, I struggled with this - but the reason was, the first 'graphic' scene had a point - it was to show how far Peter went and how much it affected Jason. I don't think that could be alluded to as I did the other 'sex scenes' Then to leave that as the one and only 'real' sex scene, felt wrong. It made left the impression that Peter was a dirt bag. So I wanted the last sex scene to be something of a redemption for Peter and a healing scene for Jason after the all but rape sex they had before the break up. So while my idea of a great sex scene is to get them to the bed, maybe get them naked then cut to the after glow, these two were really important for different reasons. From the comments I got on the chapter where Peter practically forces himself on Jason, I think it achieved it's purpose - to show how Peter changed from really truly caring for Jason to not caring. And then as I said the last one was to end this on a better note. I didn't think I could redeem Peter and show Jason feeling confident Peter was the old Peter and or at least trying to be, without showing the change in his bedroom behavior. So again, this comment was spot on, you touched on something I struggled with, I even had a couple people read it first to see. --- --- Finally, the court room story is going to be from the Prosecutor's perspective, not from J or P. It won't be an add on, it will not be new chapters, it will be it's own story, but you probably need to read Sec Shot to really understand it. So I suppose it might be a sequel, or maybe an epilogue, or maybe just a companion story. It will mainly focus on the trial and the lawyer who is prosecuting it. With the characters from Sec Shot being a supporting cast. Again, thanks for the really well thought out review and the comments. I appreciated them all. -- Andy
  20. Dagnabbit Dark - you answer one question but leave us twelve more. So the queen screwed an Incubus - succubus is a female and created Kynan, but somehow Karadur is her daddy - weird. Then there is the game Jacen is playing with Duncan that I don't quiet understand - is Jacen evil? I don't think so, but he is certainly not above manipulating folks to get his way. Karadur is about the most likable of the bunch - aside from Kynan and Alan of course. Too bad you waited so long to introduce him. Glad I read the chronicles - gave me a bit more of him to appreciate.

    Chapter 1

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, I saw a lot of me in the MC - surprise right - minues the 600M payday of course. -- -- thanks for the comment
  22. Carl, As others have said, tough one. But keep this in mind, you don't have always like your brother. What I mean is there are times I want to throttle mine - like the time he was upset because someone told him he got fat [i am not] so he said, yeah, I got something you'll never have - a son. [this when he knew Mike and I were working on having a child] But were good again. Not sure this homophobic things can be 'cured' but unlike homosexuality, his attitude was acquired. He can change if he wants to, so that is up to him. And while my opinion mean squat, as this is your relationship with him, I would have to wonder about the value he adds to you life. Will his attitude strain your ability to develop a deep and lasting relationship with a partner? I mean will his bigotry turn off your date and worse will your constant attempts to 'make it work' with bigot friend be harmful? IDK, but there is some real hard decidering you need to do about this. As for me, I think at the end of it, ask yourself this; ignoring your past, if you met him for the first time today, would you still want to be his friend? If the answer is no, then why keep trying? Now it sounds easy, but it is hard to ignore all that has come before. However, although friends, especially close ones are not disposable, ones who won't be there for you or worse don't want to be there for you, are in my opinion, not your real friends. Sadly it happens that people grow apart for whatever reason, clinging to the past won't make it 'that good' again. So if you have your chat with him and he refuses to 'be there for you' now that you are seeing someone, then I think you have your answer. Here's hoping he realizes what he'd be losing if he is like that.

    Epilogue

Funny how the guy he really didn't want - even after having great sex with, is the one he ended up with. Yeah it was a good trip - twenty years from now? Wow you're gutsy trying to figure out what 20 years from now looks like So, I'll read on and see, if only to make snarky comments about how that isn't what the future hold
  24. You said at the beginning this was a journey for Cooper, and it seems he finally figured out what he was supposed to be and do. Not that he was wrong to do what he did along the way, but I think all the fooling around taught him a few things. Of course, maybe I'm wrong again and he and Chase won't work out and he'll revert to his old way. But all in all a very good journey you took us on. Now to the Epilogue.
