So clearly the impression last chapter that Cooper was basically gay but didn't admit it was premature. He and Kyle are clearly liking each other but Kyle is correct to keep things on the causal for now, two dates does not a life time make. Not sure how much I like Rusty - no reason, just not sure. Okay, are there any ugly gay men in this story? Just wondering cause I'm feeling a tad insecure all the sudden

Several things, a) I like that we are learning more about Cooper - but it does seem a bit IDK odd maybe? that he went from straight to curious to a total horn dog for guys. b ) I like Kyle, he seems the perfect balance for Cooper - secure and confident but willing to let Cooper be in control. He knows what he wants and isn't shy about asking. c) This is dangerous - Kyle doesn't want dutch to know but he is hooking up with his best friends roommate. HMM. T-R-O-U-B-L-E! Good chapter Andy

Interesting how quickly young Mr. Cooper went from totally into girls to scaming on his tutor. Then when giving a chance to 'lose it' with David, he waited to lose it to Spencer instead - Freud would have a field day with this one And yeah, no more reading this on the Metro - don't want to be branded a perv.

I'd suggest Coronado - just across the bridge from San Diego. Has some touristy stuff - but what beach area doesn't - but is mostly a residential community - they have plenty of hotels etc, but it is isn't one giant tourist attraction like most beach areas. San Diego is as I said just over the bridge, or you can take the water taxi. The beach is decent - not the world's best but still good, and there's lots to do. Whatever you decide - enjoy it. Andy

As Sam said, this was a gallop. There was a line from Monty Python's Meaning of Life movie I always thought so apt in situations like this. The teacher asks the kids how to get the woman ready for sex - and the first kid says rub the clitoris. The teacher shoots back - what's wrong with a kiss boy - and lists a few other things then says all this before we stampede to the clitoris. BUT this was fun. Spencer sounds like a real piece of work - he is going to have some effect on Cooper. Now to see what happens. Seems like cooper might not be so sure he is straight after all. Andy

Wow, that was some journey. I hope you do write the sequel, which is really more a continuation of this story because clearly this one isn't over. Still, Jacob surviving, in some fashion is good I guess. What puzzles me is why Victor Cross would make that deal with Jacob. it prevented him from doing what he told Anehol he was going to do. Or then again did it? Tricky HC. Which is why you need to write book 2. I'll save the thanks for the epilogue, or maybe they won't be so thankful if you really leave us hanging. Andy

I'm told I do sad well, not sure that is good, I must be a very sad person to be able to make people it so strongly But, even though no one died, it was how I saw the story unfolding. Gracious but the love struck are dim. Bashta's lament that he has no clan to sing for him would seem foolish even to him if he took the time to think. But, then that is for the next chapter to work out, isn't it?? Nice images by the way - poor Cavel, having to endure Bashta's naked body - such a terrible burden. Oh you are so mean Cia.

We have three - I have a '08 Jeep Wrangler soft top with 8600 miles on it - I plan to pass it on to the Kid some day so I am babying it. He has a 06' Jaguar XJ-8 Vanden Plas - complete with snack tracks in the back seats. And the dogs have a '04 Subaru Outback Wagon. Not sure why I do, but I have this undying passion for Jeep Wranglers. It was my first and so far only vehicle [it's not a car] I've owned, this is my fourth one. Just something about taking the top down, sitting up high, shifting gears with the music blaring that you don't get with other cars. Oh well, watch my kid crash my baby withing a month of me giving it to them. :wacko:

Does this mean Derrick is the 'Love Doctor?" I mean Patty wanted his 'Professional' opinion didn't she? Or was that him just offering it? So the funny farm just got crazier. Poor Blake, Just when Haze is about to profess his undying love, Patty shows up and pushes Blake into the arms of her irresistibly hot gay BFF. So, a little mind numbing drugs, a little drinky, a horny gay man trying to score - yup Blake's gonna get laid next chapter and Haze is gonna be PISSed - See my chapter name suggestion from last chapter will be perfect for the next one. Of course Haze can't say too much, after all his beard is with him, so Blake is perfectly free to while away his time with Derrick, who of course is only there for the fun. So when he and Patty leave, then Haze and Blake are free to shack up - Oh wait, mum's still there - she won't like it if he screws up his 'thing' with Patty. Shucks, just when I had it all worked out. See this is what happens when you write a chapter with nothing to complain about - I just go off on crazy tangents, speculating about things that haven't been written yet. Okay, I shut up and hit, 'add review.'

Lovely title for a chapter, so engrossing. Can I suggest a title name? Pissed Off? Okay enough Potty Humor. At least we know where Haze get's his crazy behavior from - Mum isn't all there herself now is she? On second thought is anyone all there is this story? Blake - no, Haze - no, Mum - no - Nats - no. Quite the interesting cast of character from which to weave your web.

Hmmm. That chapter was interesting in many ways. You wove so many subplots and hinted at other things that it's hard to say it was satisfying - and I don't mean that in a bad way - It left me eager to hit the next chapter button, but alas there is no next chapter just yet - this is why I wait to read things, I am too impatient. But wow, I really like how easy to grasp your world is. Now if we can only get the boys together.

Finally we get to see Kynan interact with Alan - now we gotta get them together if for no other reason that to save Kynan. Again, as I said last chapter, you characters are distinctive - that's a bit tricky when dealing with different species - and it is good to finally see a bit more of Kynan's true self. Sadly, next chapter doesn't seem like it's going to go well for him Well at least Alan has a few friends he can count on already to help, so hopefully he will be able to help Kynan before he is turned into a demon kebab.

Well that got things moving again, seems we have our cast of characters fleshed out and now we are moving into getting Kynan and Alan together - [hey I can hope right?] I give you high marks for developing distinct personalities for each of your characters - the only one I don't get too clear a sense of is Kynan but mostly because he is locked up and he isn't showing his true self - I hope that changes soon. A few new concepts/themes introduced here. I can't say I have total understanding just yet, but it was well written and I understand enough to keep up. I assume things will get clearer - and by that I mean, given how things have gone so far, you plan to flesh them out in future chapters - so it's all good. Things do seem to be coalescing around our main characters. Aure seems to be not quite so neutral as Elementals are reported to be. But then again neither is that Earth Elemental who is in the employ of Xeran. But he does seem to be drawing people together to stop Xeran from winning. So we can put him in the good guy category and like him I suppose. Andy

Not sure how I missed this - I mean it's only the third review for the short story right? Anyway, I wrote this a bit ago, with the intention of trying to do something different. Not sci fi, not teen/college drama etc. Oh yeah and no sex. It worked okay, though I don't see a longer story out of this that some suggested. I also don't think it ever pays to lower yourself to the standards of others especially not for revenge. So you are right, it would have come back to haunt him. Thanks again trevor. Andy

Not sure Kynan is going to be holding out much longer -seems the Dark Prince will eventually get the information from him he wants. But at what cost? I suspect Kynan doesn't trust the prince as far as he can kick him so it is doubtful he will succumb and be his 'loyal' servant Great chapter, I thought it captured his emotions quite well. Definitely feel sorry for him after reading that.

Alan is a nice kid - a part of me feels bad, but honestly, he was more than a bit disrespectful to his dad - "F-you?" I mean he knew he shouldn't have been out that night so he had to know his dad was gonna be mad. BUT being 18 what can you do right? He and Kynan - the dog - would be an interesting couple. Any picture/drawing of what he looks like?

Not that I have anything to base this on, but I always felt kids did better with siblings. I know my sister and I were always there for each other and even to this day she and I are close - my brother - well I like him but I can't say we are tight, so who knows. But I still wished I had the option - still might but this might be the nail that seals that coffin.

God I so wanted to give you a negative rep for that. Poor Jacob, although I would totally be crushing on Brian, Jacob wasn't the bad one - he didn't deserve to die. BUT then again, I suppose he at least understood things better than Adam. If one died, they both died and since Adam was 'dead' set on save Avantia, he was going to kill Jacob in the process. Jacob's way at least let one of them live. Though me personally, I don't think I would want to be the one to survive the other, so he didn't really do Jacob any favors. Not sure how you can end this on a happy note, not even Brian and Adam shacking up will do that, but I'll give you a chance. Oh yeah - write the damn sequel

Maria, Arl, Thanks for the encouragement. Thinks will work out, it's just a matter of cost at this point. There will be some kinda insurance - paid by use, there will be a pre birth order terminating her rights before the birth, and we will have our baby in 6 months. Sadly this will end up costing us 75% of the money we planned to use for the second child - which in reality wouldn't likely be enough given how much more things cost then we were told. We are by no means rich, we both for the government, but we saved diligently for this so we will be able to make it work. But I am still angry. Our expectations of a friendship with the surrogate have largely went out the window. Mike - who has always been the more social of the two of us, always took the lead in keeping contact with her - now he has said several times, this is an arms length business deal. Show her the baby, says thanks, send the final check and we're done. At least that is how he feels now. Not sure how far behind him I am anymore. BUT in six months, I won't care about her, her tax issues, the shady lawyer, nothing. I'll have better things to worry about. So that is what I keep telling myself.

It does seem a bit unfair, Bashta has no real idea what's happening to him while Cavel has most of it under control - most as in he knows whats what but how to get it is the issue. And for that he has clansmen who can and are giving him advice. Seems like Bashta is getting it however, he recognizes Cavel is a good man and he is slowly giving up his solitude, sleep near Cavel was a good start.
