I LOVE that Tyler thinks Ariel, and everything about him, is "adorable". It's real easy to fall in love with yourself once someone you respect shows you how. I'm also more impressed with his confidence when it comes to Tyler than when he stood up to Hailey. That's right, I'm blogging from the car boys and girls. Top floor of the Disneyland parking structure. We've been sitting here 18 minutes already and haven't moved an inch closer to home. Ugh! At least I have my Jamba Juice, some Good Charlotte to listen to, and my trusty cell phone. So I finished my anthology submission last night. Underneath This Big Ol' Sky - Part 2 for all of you who read part 1 and are waiting to find out what happens next with the folks on Kingsman Bluff. Now's your chance to reread Part 1 if you missed it or want to get reacquainted with the story before Part 2 is released. Okay the many cars in front of us have turned their engines off :S that's not a good sign... 25 minutes and the f**ker next to us who decided to create a second lane of traffic in this one way aisle is pissing me off! Good for him Rich is driving... So they're back to firing half the store staff for stealing. WTF is wrong with people? Soon I'll be the only employee... maybe THEN I'll get a raise... Rich came home from work the other day and said he had to make a naked man ice sculpture that had liquid continuously flowing out of his you-know-where. I wondered if it was for a bachelorette party or something, but it turns out it was for an episode of the show Entourage that's on HBO. Sounds pretty awesome to me! Besides, not every day you get to make ice penises at work. I wonder if the shrinkage factor was considered in the making of said ice man. Traffic update... we've moved approximately 100 feet in 36 minutes. At this rate, we could walk home faster, it's not like we're that far. We've heard AFI, My Chemical Romance, Fallout Boy, and just for the one day I have to pick my Sweetie up at the airport, JT. I think I have to pee... Hmmm... So I edited Steve's anthology and I was impressed and fascinated. He is always a magical read anyway, amazing talent at connecting you to not only his characters, but his setting and it's funny, but there is always one scene in everything of his I read that seems to rise above the rest and touch my heart even more if that's possible and he didn't let me down this time either. Look for it! I edited Kevin's as well, and I have to say, as anthologies go, this is probably the best I've seen from him yet. Quite a touching story so keep your eyes open for it too. I'm rather excited, truth be told, that Graeme is doing he reviews of the anthologies. I told him that I can't wait to see what he thinks because I respect his opinion as a writer and that he impresses me with his ability to always manage to bring up an amazing point tha hadn't occured to me. Still on the top floor of the parking structure, 51 minutes now, and we've made half a lap around the top toward the exit. Matt Kearney is singing to us and Rich has started saying not nice words about the drivers who apparently think they don't have to wait like the rest of us. So, speaking of Rich, we both had the day off today from work amazingly, so we slept in and stayed in bed almost all morning, even if we weren't sleeping the whole time and I got wounded during the non-sleep portion by the new kitten, but it was worth it. We showered together, and spent all day doing a whole buncha nothing but it was nice. Did I forgot to mention that when we left to come here to sit for an hour now on the 6th floor of the parking structure, that my new car had a flat tire so Rich had to change the tire but I got to read the manual to him about the funky lugnut/antitheft system. Anyway, I hope I manage to get it done on time, I'm REALLY trying, and I'm off all day on Friday, not that I can concentrate much with the kids home on summer break, but we'll see. I'm afraid cause... you never know... so I probably won't, but they looked SO fantastic! So, Tony sent me this link to a news article about two boyfriends from Newark who were seniors and there was a picture of the two of them kissing in the yearbook, and then the superintendent for their school decided that it was too illicit to be seen by the students, and then made some very poor decisions. He always calls me every day on his lunch break cause most days during the week, that's the only time we talk until I get home from work, at around 11 p.m. except this week I was working REALLY early because another girl is on vacation. So, I answer my phone, while I'm working and tell him I really can't talk right now, and he says, "Oh fine! I guess I won't tell you my news then..." (Joey style!!) So I say, "WAIT! What news?!" and he proceeds to tell me that they made him the Art Director at his new job! Yay Rich! Not bad for two weeks, then again, it was sort of implied that he would eventually be responsible for that as well, but still, SO YAY! Anyway, I'm totally exhausted cause I have been at work at 3 and 4 a.m the past three days, so please forgive me if none of this makes any sense... and I really should get back to writing, but it's been a while since I updated, but not in the land of Chris so I thought I'd give ya something to read. And... big shock, it sorta hurts. It was worth it though. My daughter graduated from sixth grade today looking SO grown up and beautiful in 'the dress'. She actually cried more than I did So there were 2 and a half graduating classes today (one was a combination class, so only half of them were sixth graders). They saved all their acheivment awards for the graduation ceremony so that the parents could see their kids receive them. My daughter... got them all! She earned the Gold award for academic acheivement in Math with a 90% or higher, the Gold award for academic acheivment in Language Arts with a 90% or higher, Academic Excellence in Science, a 100% completion award for homework, and a Citizenship Award for getting no more than one warning all trimester. SO impressed! She is always so damn hard on herself, and I'll admit now, that she may have mostly surpassed my knowledge in the math department, but WOW! :graduated: What a way to make an exit, right? So yeah, sunburned due to sitting out there for over two hours today. Only my arms, up to the shoulder, cause the dress I was wearing was sleeveless, and the tops of my knees, cause when sitting in said dress, that's where it stopped. Not too bad, mostly just a little pink, I'll survive. If I can have a baby mostly burnt from the waist down, I can deal with this. So I got an amazing e-card from Vance and a beautiful picture card from Ronnie today in the mail! We went out to dinner last night to Spaghetti Factory which we like and they seat us, and we order, and the kids promptly tell our waiter, Ryan, that it is my birthday so he smirks in that way that says 'Got it!' So we eat, and Rich is SO full he's like... beyond uncomfortable, and Ryan has already brought out our Spumoni ice cream that comes with every meal (maybe why we like that place so much ) and he's whining about how he can't eat another bite when Ryan shows up with this caramel, pecan prailine ice cream thing. So he ate that too after they sang to me *giggle*. So by the time we were done and had to stop off in Target before we headed home, he was REALLY uncomfortable. He's decided the way to avoid that next time is to just order that caramelly dessert only, who needs food anyway So, good luck wishes to my Sweetie, and my Angel, who both had their last day of work today and start their new jobs on Monday! and You guys are gonna be fantastic! I turned 30 today.... I watched my baby graduate kindergarten.... I got these beautiful flowers all the way from Scotland (thanks Sweetie )... Had birthday sex... And spumoni ice cream!

I told him that's not possible since he's already the best... but So it's my birthday... the big three-oh. I got a great e-card from Petey and a BUNCH of great birthday wishes, my sister left me a card on the door this morning, a birthday text from Dhruv and his family and friend My friend just dropped off a card that says, "With sympathy on the loss of your 20's" and some nonsense about it being all downhill from here. AND! I got these... From Davey and Chris! They are SO pretty and SO big, and smell fantastic! Thank you bunches! I think Rich is going to take me out to dinner later tonight, too, so that's good! So today I got to watch my baby graduate Kindergarten! :graduated: I'll admit I was crying before he even walked out. But it's not my fault, I swear! Turn the big three-oh-uh-oh. :wacko: So, a Father's Day dinner tomorrow, yay for sitting in traffic , then Monday, my daughter has her class trip to a water park out here all day, and then when she gets home, we have to continue the quest for the perfect graduation dress. Tuesday I have to be at work at 5 a.m. and then pick up the kids from school, and HOPEFULLY!!! we found the perfect dress on Monday night, cause otherwise it's happening Tuesday night. Then Wednesday is the big kindergarten graduation for my son, and the big three-oh-uh-oh, and Thursday I'll get to see the perfect graduation dress in action for the sixth grade graduation. My old boss came into the store today to borrow something for his new store and hugged me I miss him! and when he left, he walked out shouting, "Bye Valerie!!" cause that's our lame joke now. See the story goes... he was the manager of the store near my house that I usually shop at, and so when I found out he got transferred to my store and was shopping, I mentioned it to someone there who immediately called him down to come meet me (in my jeans and flip flops with the kids and Rich all there too). So, then his first day in my store, I walked into the office and he says, "Hi Valerie!" and I went so now he knows it bugs me and teases me like that. So after I made it through the day that was beyond all reason at work today, cause every manager in the store was off at this one girl's wedding leaving me and one guy who just got promoted and came back to help for today, and the new, now old, boss who just got promoted too, along with the 3 cashiers that called in sick on Father's Day weekend, I went Father's Day shopping with the kids and got Rich a GREAT present. It's something he's been saying he wants for months now so yay! So, about Father's Day... I just want to take a minute to say, that when it comes to being a father, a dad, a friend, a mentor, a teacher, and a million other things to our kids, Rich is fantastic! I love you babe! It's been 11 1/2 years of this 'father' business... only a lifetime to go, but hey, look at the bright side, in another 15 years, it'll be Grandfather's Day and we can GIVE THEM BACK! So, last night I was sorta sufing around the net, checking different story sites, and I was at AwesomeDude, and I saw that Camy and Graeme have audio for some of their stories. So I listened to them both, cause I'm a HUGE sucker for accents and I know that they are from England and Australia so I was curious after listening, if it was they themselves who did the readings? Also, I wonder if any of you would rather listen than read? I prefer to read myself, so I'm just wondering. Anyhoodle... if I'm still alive after Thursday, I'll be 30 then. Well, then they will just have to do what they do best, and persuade your family to love them. Besides, if they are like him, and you love him, it should be fairly easy. Okay so, as a parent with a similarly ages child.... I would have Sam call Scott and ask Scott about the one on one fishing, something you don't have to be present for, or involved in. As far as the Niagra Falls trip, if you don't want to be stuck in the same room with Scott for 3 days for several various GOOD reasons, then take that option off the table. It's a compromise, it's what you need, and in the long run, Sam is gonna be just fine on the trip with or without Scott being there, so I think you owe it to yourself to make it as easy as possible to create good memories and have a good time with Sam as possible, meaning, no Scott. As far as the 'with kid' portion, and you finding a relationship with someone who is wants to be with Sam too... It's possible. And you don't give yourself NEARLY enough credit. Besides, I know several people in our age range with kids the age we have. The plus side to it is, Sam is basically self sufficient and a fantastic kid. He isn't looking for some replacement parent, I think, and he doesn't require a lot of time and non-stop focus as a baby or younger child would. Maybe, sitting Sam down and asking him what he wants for him, and what he wants for you, and what he wants for your family might be a good idea, see where his head is. I'm sure, no matter how attached he is to Scott, he can understand that now, you can't be anymore, and so he is free to feel as he does, and hopefully Scott won't let him down, but that you are also free to feel as you do, and when you find someone else, it will be who you want.
