"We are, quite literally, on a knife's edge." Aaargh!! Hopefully, a real CBC Anchor wouldn't say that. No, it's not "literally." It's a figure of speech; it is not literal!!!!! The destruction of the English language… Sorry, pet peeve.

Jeremy: "As usual, my cousins managed to create constant drama. I was so glad I didn’t do that." Possibly the funniest line in this entire saga.

I'm enjoying the story. FWIW, and I apologize for pedantry, but 403 is the Apache error code for Access Forbidden. Not Found is 404.

When the dinner fight started I checked on the date, thinking it must be a Sunday. But no, 10/13/04 was a Wednesday.

If Will wants two, he can have them. I just evicted the stench of Elon from my own garage in favor of a Hyundai Ioniq 5 😀 The Hyundai is quieter, rides better, has a bigger cargo area than the Model Y, and no phantom braking. And next year I'll be able to charge it at Tesla superchargers.

'Good thinking Ninety-Nine.’ I didn't know Get Smart had made it to Australia! I wonder how many readers today will understand that reference?

"no way in hell am I going to start my eighteenth year as a virgin.” Um, actually, his eighteenth birthday is the start of his nineteenth year…

Thanks. Not sure why I just now noticed it 😉 I've read 'em all.

A slightly OT question: what's the font used for the story banner? I like it 😀

Chapter 13 - Throwing Stones at Windows
dhphllps commented on James Matthews's story chapter in Chapter 13 - Throwing Stones at Windows
I'm guessing the question about "stone" might actually have been about "I felt five stone heavier" rather than about throwing one at a window? That's a British measurement of body weight equal to 14 pounds (not £s) 😉 Edit: Sorry, I should have reloaded the page before commenting and seen that it had already been clarified. -
Herky is a reference to this https://hawkeyesports.com/herky-the-hawk/

I didn't get this one either.

"I'm sure Ethen has a lot to say, but that's for another story." Book III, I hope?

I'm enjoying the story and appreciate the good writing. One minor quibble - the sources of the Missouri River are in and near Yellowstone National Park, not Glacier 😀
