  1. Awww, that pic is so sweet. Makes me smile.
  2. It depends what I'm in the mood for. If I'm in the mood for a straight up romance then definitely characters. I actually prefer the romances where the leads just get to know each other and interact and work out relationship stuff over the ones where they meet in the middle of, like say, a treasure hunt or an expedition to Tasmania or something like that. Not saying I don't like those kinds of things if I'm in the mood, but most of the time I'd rather have strong characters that have personality over an engaging plot. On the other hand, if I'm in the mood for something more actiony like a fantasy adventure or a space opera or an urban fantasy I want a good plot. I still want the characters with personality, but at the end of the day I don't give a crap if Harry Dresden gets a girlfriend, I wanna see him blow up a bad guy and save the world.
  3. Don't forget the giant Pits of Death with no guard rails in the Emperor's freaking Throne Room. Pretty big safety oversight.
  4. Must be tough being a single working parent.
  5. Holy crap, total nostalgiagasm! I LOVED this show! Hell, 90's Nick and Fox Kids practically raised me. lol. Repair Man, Good Burger, Vital Information, Ask Ashley, all of, um, that. God I laughed my ass off, probably harder than I did at SNL when I eventually started watching it. Didn't really like it when the old cast started getting replaced though and I kinda stopped watching after the guy from Pete and Pete (I can NEVER think of him as anyone else) joined. Not because I didn't like him but I just got sick of seeing new faces That was so awesome seeing them so many years after the show though. Thanks so much for posting.
  6. Agreed. And the whole idea of "gender neutral" is pretty stupid anyway because there ARE genders. No one doesn't have a gender unless their a hermaphrodite. And gender "stereotypes" aren't even stereotypes. Like it or not most guys like "guy" things and most girls like "girl" things. It would be like saying puppies chasing after balls are "dog stereotypes" just because most dogs chase after balls that are thrown. It's not a stereotype, it's just how people are.
  7. I've known I liked guys and girls pretty much since I started jerking off. This was back in the dark days before xtube and stuff where if you wanted to see real live 27 year old 18 year olds you needed to join a paysite, so I mostly "used" the free trial sections and the rest of the time free erotic story sites. The story site I used the most had a gay section and I don't even remember why I first looked there but I did and those stories turned me on just as much as the straight ones. I never really had any big "oh my god I like the cock!" moments except this one time that was only like "I think guys are really hot, am I gay? Nah, I like girls too, I'm good." and even though I liked guys I never really thought about having a relationship with one. I just knew that one day I wanted to have sex with a guy. So in middle and high school I did the dating girls thing enough to realize that, finding them attractive or not, I really, really don't like dating them. So a bunch of years of not dating happened for various reasons and by the time I was ready to try a relationship again I figured "what the hell, might as well try it with a guy" and eventually met my boyfriend and we've been together for more than 4 years and counting Even if we broke up though I can't see myself ever dating a girl again. Being with a guy is just so much better in every way for me that I'd never be happy with a girl. As for coming out, I didn't do that until about two years ago and I did it in an email to my mom while I was 480 miles away visiting my boyfriend that basically said "you know that girl I've been going out to Ohio to see for the past few years? Well, she's actually a guy. Tell dad ok?" They both took it perfectly fine. Well, my mom cried but she said it was because she felt awful that I didn't feel like I could tell her before then. They love my boyfriend and everything's all puppies and rainbows as far as my sexuality goes.
  8. This topic kinda makes me wanna spam posts to get to 500.....but then I'd still have no idea what to change it to
  9. The part that bothers me is the quote about the person who organized the contest being the target of "ridicule and abuse". I agree a million percent that banning same sex romance stories was totally wrong but the second you start threatening or making of someone personally you lose the moral high ground and have no right to claim you stand against discrimination. People need to learn to go after issues and ideas, not individual people.
  10. I think someone can be too beautiful for certain people. For me I'd never be able to be with someone who looked the way I look/wanna look because I'd always be judging myself against them. That's why I go for guys who look different. I can enjoy their hotness without getting all jealous and self critical.
  11. I'm 5'10" too and I've noticed that there are a LOT of guys taller than me, so you can definitely find one. But I'm totally with you, taller guys are awesome b^_^
  12. It took me three years and three computers (destroyed one a year) to figure out that downloading porn from a P2P service wasn't a good idea, so, I'm definitely not a geek, lol. But I am a huge sci-fi/fantasy nerd and a gamer and literally every gay person I know is at least kinda the same. And since someone mentioned sports, everything I know about any sport that isn't baseball or basketball comes from video games. NFL Blitz taught me what a down was and NHL Hitz taught me that hockey is a lot cooler when you can give the players alien heads, lol.
  13. I'm....trying really hard not to picture my dad with another guy right now.... My life definitely would have been different though. I probably would have had a LOT less fights when I was a teenager since I only ever fought with my mom. And I probably wouldn't have kept my boyfriend secret for two years, lol.
  14. If Watchmen is the graphic novel then that's the only one. I kinda hated it though I've seen a bunch of the movies though. None of the books are really my thing, I'm more of a sci-fi/fantasy/romance/combination of the three guy.
  15. Telekinesis. It's the closest I'd be able to get to being a Jedi since the Force doesn't actually exist, lol.
  16. If we're gonna talk about supermarkets I've got some more.....lol. People who use coupons and people who write checks. Coupons because the cashiers NEVER know how to use them properly and it always adds about 5 minutes to the line wait and checks because people never know how to write them out quickly. And cashiers usually don't know how to deal with them either. You'd think with all my whining about cashiers I'd have more tolerance when people write checks and use coupons at a self checkout but, no, they just lock up the machine and everyone has to wait for one of the "employees" to get done with all the talking their doing to come over and figure out how the idiot managed to break the thing and....wow, I'm kinda bitter aren't I?
  17. This might make me sound like a dick but, people who I barely know suddenly telling me I'm a "really good friend" and unloading all their problems on me. I don't care! And people who use slogans or insults as arguments.
  18. At least one cult will off themselves the day before "the end of the world".
  19. Depends. Some guys look terrible with facial hair and as a general rule if you can't grow a full beard you're usually better off shaving. But even on guys who CAN grow a full beard it doesn't always look good. Stubble sometimes looks hot but, again, only if you can pull it off. The one thing that never, ever works for me is a goatee. I hate them.
  20. There are different degrees of morality too. I'm pretty sure there aren't a lot of people who would say stealing a candy bar is just as immoral as killing someone. So even if "Billy" has a problem with lying to his parents to get college money he should at least see that kicking your kid out with nothing is a lot worse than what he's doing. So yeah he shouldn't even think of coming out until he's out of college and able to support himself.
  21. Just to be different: Done! Hope you win.
  22. Happy New Year! Hopefully I make it out of January before breaking all my resolutions this year
  23. Huh, that's funny, because I've been reading full sized adult novels since I was 10 years old and I've never had trouble with my imagination or thinking in general, but I love graphic novels and manga. I never knew how dumb and lazy I really was. And I must be, because if I'm not than your whole post is probably the most ignorant thing I've ever read online, YouTube comments included, and that just can't possibly be true, right? Anyway, to answer the intelligent posts, yeah I think they're written works. I think in a lot of ways it takes more work to write a graphic novel than it does to write a regular one. You have to not only write dialogue and action but you need to make sure the entire story fits in panels and that none of those panels are wasted. It's a lot to keep in mind and I respect the hell out of anyone who could do it.
  24. Saint's Row the 3rd and The Old Republic and lots and lots of Amazon gift cards so I don't end up with 2 dollars in my account again next month from buying too many Kindle books, lol.
  25. Sounds fake, but still, if it WERE true I guess maybe he could have got a heart attack from it or something. Or maybe it fell off and he died of shock.
