I realized after I read chapter nine that I totally forgot to read chapter eight! After reading this chapter, I find it odd that Elizabeth calls Max 'boy', but she seems so warm and friendly to Aaron (in the next chapter). Why can't she be warm and friendly to her own nephew? Maybe Max wouldn't be Ghost, or even the ice prince, if she had treated him with love right from the beginning.

I wonder why Aaron didn't tell Max who he was earlier. Now Max feels betrayed by him again. I hope Aaron has a chance to explain himself.

Paul Walker from all the Fast and the Furious films????? Brown hair, really, really nice looking? Horrible way to die. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=paul+walker Nah, you can keep his name; I'm sure there are hundreds of Paul Walkers walking around (no pun intended!).

Yep, Ezra's "father" is a nutcase. He should be locked up for child abuse. And this happens every Friday? Sick, sick, sick. Poor Ezra. I wish Joshua or Ms. Garcia, or SOMEBODY would see through Ezra, and see his scars and what he's been going through, preferably before his wacko sperm donor pulls him off the research project and pulls him out of school
-
Ah yes, Paul Walker, may he RIP. Ezra's father is such a bully! And what a religious lunatic! Homeschooling is the WORST thing he could do to Ezra. He thinks by all his physical abuse he's keeping Ezra safe????? He's a wacko! Ok, can't wait to review the next chapter! lol

Omg, I just read dr's review - is Aaron the same boy from third grade? That's how he remembered Max lives with his aunt. And omg, I just remembered - Aaron promised never to leave him again! I know when I read that a chapter or two ago, it struck me as weird, but if Aaron is the same boy as when they were younger, then it makes perfect sense! Awesome chapter, dianjin!! Loved the kisses at the end - so sweet!!
-
How on earth did I miss these chapters?! I'm concerned now b/c Max didn't remember telling Aaron about his aunt and her big house. Is Aaron a stalker? But for what reason? Or is he pretending to be something he isn't just to get what he wants from Max? I hope I'm wrong!!! Max can't take another heartbreak.

There's this adorable little Yorkie who's boarding at the vet's office where I work, and his name is Willy. I find myself constantly singing Little Willy all day long. It's in a loop in my head. lol

I am also thrilled that Galen has something to look forward to. I love Jody already!! I can tell they have a terrific relationship and I'm so happy Galen has someone else besides Liam to support him.

Love Anne Murray! That song is an oldie but goodie.

Yep, Roger's an ass. He knows exactly what Josh wants to hear and that's what he tells him. He's only using Josh as a booty call, maybe one step up from fuck buddy. As Cannd said, they haven't seen each other in so long and he wouldn't even TOUCH Josh! Josh was the one who did all the touching. Josh is so blind he can't see what everyone around him can see. Roger only called Josh up at work b/c he was feeling horny. He didn't care about hearing Josh's voice. And, as another reader pointed out, who's to say Roger is faithful? I'll bet he's not. And why didn't they use a condom? Oh yeah, they've been "together" for eight years and Josh believes Roger is true to him. So naive. Cannd also brought up another good point: why hasn't Liam had Roger checked out? For all we know he's married (male or female), and has a house with a white picket fence and 2.5 kids. And conveniently, he lives too far from the farm to move in with Josh.

Chapter 5 - A wall will fall
Lisa commented on dianjin's story chapter in Chapter 5 - A wall will fall
Aaron could be so wonderful for Max, if Max could just let the ice melt a little more. If he would stop closing himself off, even a little bit, or a little at a time, he would see that not all people will abandon him. He needs to find his trust in people again. Aaron can be his trust. -
I love Aaron! Although his overzealous attitude is already getting to Max, oops! Maximilian! lol I hope Aaron can break through Max's barriers.

What a beautiful story, Cole. Used up a helluva lot of Kleenex, but well worth the read. I'm so glad Brian got his thirty years with Roger, instead of the five years. I was a bit confused there when Brian woke up in the morning and the scrapbook was full and thick, with lots of memories in it. I definitely like this ending the best. And as Puppi said, to paraphrase, having loved and lost is much better than never having loved at all. Wonderful story. =)

Chapter 3 - Summer thoughts
Lisa commented on dianjin's story chapter in Chapter 3 - Summer thoughts
Another sad chapter for Max. Wouldn't it be great if the object of his affection actually looked back at him and smiled? Maybe even tried to talk to him? His ice barriers might melt a little bit like they did previously. Problem is, he's too guarded. I'm looking forward to the next update, dianjin. -
Chapter 2 - The middle-school years
Lisa commented on dianjin's story chapter in Chapter 2 - The middle-school years
"That which does not kill us makes us stronger." I believe Kelly Clarkson and Kanye also used this line in their songs. It's heartbreaking reading about this poor boy's isolation. So sad that his own aunt doesn't even care about him. She bought him all the electronics just so he'd leave her alone and he'd have no excuse to bother her again. So sad. -
Who needs 'rehabilitation camps' when you have such a wacko religious freak for a father. Maybe I'm jumping ahead since I already read the upcoming chapters, but yeah, poor Ezra. Growing up like that, having 'bad' thoughts about other boys and running to the bathroom to throw up is definitely a conditioned behavior, as dr said. I hope his father won't pull the plug on Ezra helping Joshua's research. Ezra needs to try to open up more to Joshua, even if he feels his normal self-doubt and insecurities.

Nightmears Nightmares wholysoul, 19 Mar 2015 In the dead of the night When a dream is in full flight There you are in plain sight That sets my heart a race All I can do is crave your embrace I know it in every bone You still own my corazone In the dead of the night When a dream is in full flight There you are in plain sight Through thick and thin You always had the dopey grin Your body so warm to the touch It never made me sweat, too much In the dead of the night When a dream is in full flight There you are in plain sight But what is done is done And we can no longer be one In the dead of the night When a dream is in full flight There you are in plain sight I know I will never forget How I left you forever upset How clearly the wound shown Because you could never answer the phone In the dead of the night When a dream is in full flight There you are in plain sight You blocked me forever from your mind Leaving these wounds to never unwind I know forever these feelings will stay unnamed As part of my heart shall always lay unclaimed In the dead of the night When a dream is in full flight There you are in plain sight Then I knew I had to write Well, since you asked! lol I made the changes in red.

Wow, that gave me the chills. There were a few typos, but that may be on purpose... Really good poem though, wholy. It was very sad.

Chapter 1 - The childhood years
Lisa commented on dianjin's story chapter in Chapter 1 - The childhood years
Poor Max. He finally succumbs to this boy's persistency, becomes friends with him, and then the boy moves away, in Max's eyes, abandoning him like he feels his parents did. I can't believe what a cold fish his aunt is. Doesn't she know she's harming her nephew worse than the suffering he went through when his parents died? What a bitch. -
Jeez, dianjin, what a sad, sad story so far. Despite that, I'm really enjoying it. Just watch the tenses, you seem to switch from past to present pretty easily. =)

Great writing, Ron. The thing that really got to me was learning that Max's father really did love his son and was sorry he ran away. Max needed to know how his father felt, as well as all the things his mom did for him, even in his absence. Maybe there will be a sequel where we find out what's going on with Tom and what he thinks about Max moving back home...just a thought.
