  1. How many of us would have believed this would happen as little as 5 years ago? It seems I blinked, and the world changed. In some ways, for the better. I wish them health, wealth, and love, and the time to enjoy them all.
  2. I've heard a great deal of German spoken by native speakers. Regional dialects vary greatly, and I like the sound as it's spoken in the north. Texas German sounds...unusual. There's no doubt this vid played up the comedy.
  3. Someone once said German always sounds like someone is either instructing or scolding.
  4. "Poop" and "scent" should not appear in the same post. ewww, indeed Online personae may or may not be authentic. Mine is. Really. You can trust me. I'm a good person. I post pictures of dogs. riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight
  5. What? No Alice in Chains, Live, or NIN?

Oops. That should be Bald. I shall fix. Thanks. And thanks for commenting.
  7. You mean that's not your real name?
  8. It takes a certain type of courage to live your life "out there". Some do it out of ego. Some do it to become shills for their latest activity or for others. I have a Facebook account, but use it more to keep up with friends and share info we might all be interested in. I've screened out all of the folks who post pictures of their lunch, and I limit posts to things I think somebody might care to know or enjoy. It's no different than carrying on a conversation over a meal. Who sees the stuff I post? Mostly, friends in real life, but I keep in mind that it's all out there, ready to be forwarded.

  10. I like the idea of limited themes with one author per theme. It worked out well for Halloween. Starting out with 32 themes sounds overwhelming. If someone comes up with another good theme, you can always add that to the project.
  11. Congrats, kid. I hope it was ever'thing you could wish for.
  12. Lacey, that's far too simple. And also sums up just about everything else said in this thread. Walkofftheearth, you know your options. You know the risks/rewards. The nexus is, you have to decide to risk what you have, or suffer in silence. Flip a coin. If that's too flippant, you probably already made your choice.
  13. OMG, I'm late to another party! Mark, you're wiser than your years, and as worthy of all good things as anyone I've had the pleasure and honor to encounter. May the days treat you well, and the years bring you all the happiness you deserve. Here's wishing you a very happy birthday, Mark. And many more.

Thanks, Wayne. The call from W_L came at the perfect time, and I couldn't resist; when no one volunteered to write with a cemetery theme, it seemed it was mine to do. I may never consider myself an author, but this may not be my last attempt at fiction.

Thanks. I got a lot of help from KC Grim. It wouldn't have been nearly as good without his input.
