Another very well written chapter with lots of different emotions and tensions. Our lovable duo somehow seem destined to survive all this new chaos. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part? Lord! How I so don't want this to end! In your spare time, Kim, I hope you're cooking up something to follow.
This is great. Totally in a class of its own. Looking forward to much more. Percy's reticence is both frustrating and endearing at the same time. Max comes across as a little more grounded; we'll see! It is a smooth read.
Well.....I read this last night, and it has taken a while for it all to settle, so to speak. You certainly upped the ante, didn't you! So much for a soothing calmness! The possibilities have just increased by at least a thousandfold (I don't know if there is such a word). For such a dramatic change of story, you pulled it off so smoothly. Why am I not surprised at that?
Oh no. I was smiling as I read this chapter, until the end. Once the drama with the evil mother had sort of evaporated a little, it seemed like we were in for some smooth sailing. But, oh no! You do have a gift of being able to create a soothing atmosphere, and then, with a few simple words, it disappears totally. Waiting for the next chapter will be hard.
What a miserable woman. How on earth could she have possibly given birth to Kaleb? You have definitely increased the level of intensity. Fasten your seatbelts, it's going to be a bumpy night. (Great job, as usual.)
Naughty Kim, making us wait nine days for this. But, as always, or should I say, comme toujours, it was worth waiting for. I still marvel at how flawless and smooth your dialogue is. The story moves along feeling so natural and just right, too. But....a new car?? Where is this headed?!
I wasn't sure, at first, how I was responding to this....being so hooked on "Shades of Grey". This chapter convinced me. It has quite the different feel to it. I really enjoyed both the dialogue and the flashbacks. Only five more chapters...
What a wise move, on Kaleb's part, to come along. He shines brightly in this sad episode. Chase is a lucky guy. Should be very interesting when Scott shows up. Another fine chapter.
As usual, a masterpiece. For a while, their world seemed safe, warm, and secure. And then you changed direction and off we went! You sure know how to keep everyone's attention.
This is such fine writing. I want to repeat my previous comment....I always finish reading your chapters with a comforting feeling. It is like whatever goes wrong, there remains the hope and strength to overcome the obstacles in the way. I am not at all sure how you do this, but I always feel this way. Great job.
This is a great story....but I am surprised I am feeling sympathetic to Derek, and somewhat ambivalent to Charlie. Don't like Travis at all. Good storytelling .
It is almost impossible not to feel stunned at the end of the chapter. Such turbulence, but somehow, there seems to be hope. "The more things change, the more they remain the same."
I am always left with a comforting feeling whenever I finish one of these chapters. Everything feels so right. I am sure it won't last. I predict the two of them will overcome all the odds, in the end, however. Great job of writing!
It is uncanny how you can write about fantasy, yet make it seem so real. This story has definitely catapulted to a whole different level. Most intriguing. Don't stop.
At long last, love. Ummm ummmm, finger-lickin' good. Damn!! Felt like I was standing right next to the action....could almost feel the heat. But.....what goes up, must come down (or so they tell me), I am worried, now. What is going to happen, after the glow wears off? Somehow, I just don't expect a "happily ever after" ending, here. Even tho' they both deserve it.
