You gotta love Dawn, such a sensible person!! I still get the feeling Gray will find some success with the radio programs and that Jacob will most likely be heard and seldom seen as he gets on with his studies and employment!!! He snorted a laugh before grinning broadly, his eyes sparkling. “I like that.” His words were deliberately simple, unobtrusive, but the groupie in me shrieked again and was already decorating the bathroom with scented candles. I wanted to say something, something casual like “Good, glad that’s settled", or something like that, but the trumpeting of an elephant sounded, fortunately muffled.

This chapter was walking the high wire, greased in lard during a tempest....if anything, the tension is palpable and hopefully diminishes before it explodes... I loved the following... I do not need to know everything, not now. You speak carefully, and I understand why. There are things the world is not always ready to hear. But I want you to know, *I* am ready. I'm of two minds here. Where was Noah over this holiday break? Not even a text? I have to keep remembering, 14 for me was way too many years ago to admit to, but memories of back then remain steadily in focus..I still manage to piss off friends of those days with pithy reminders...Very few of us were rational and not thinking with the little head down below... And then, the memory of that night with Noah still gnawed at me – the lubricant, the pressure. I knew he didn’t mean to make me feel unsafe. But he had. And I couldn’t shake it. More and more lately, I was questioning if that was the type of boyfriend I really wanted, but in the end, I couldn’t dismiss the way his kisses and hugs made me feel, and that he was still maturing and would hopefully get there soon, realizing how much of a dick he had been, and then finally things would start to go smoothly between us. We just needed to get on the same page. I was willing to try. I just hoped he was, too.
