While it wouldn't serve the story as plotted, I would have kicked the a-hole in the balls (perhaps the tire iron instead?) and have at him as he was bending over retching....stuffed him in the front seat of his car, emptied the bottle of cheap rotgut all over him, set the car in gear towards the pothole and the bridge, and watch. I'm debating on using a lighter as well... Ok...now that that is out of the way, not that I have any strong feelings...I loved this chapter, knowing the longer term plan makes the most sense...to see the a-hole emasculated in the most public space!!!

And yet, at the end of the day, all Leo is trading is one hell for another and simply a pawn...

To each their own, que sera, sera... Personally, I've never understood tattoos or piercings. To put myself through collage I worked in a jewellery factory. There were a couple of 'old' WW2 veterans who had gotten amazing tattoos that were all but just a mass of faded, indistinct shapes. Learning that over time, that clean crisp tattoo thirty years later, is anything but... I watch friends and younger relatives with the piercings of their lips, nose, and other 'areas' . How uncomfortable it is when my niece tries to blow her nose, or the stud on her cheek gets caught on something...and not that I have any strong felings one way or the other, but nipple piercings...uggg!!! As to a PA, one of God's most marvelous creations, to me needs no improvement or desecration...however, que sera, sera!!!

In the small town I grew up in, we had what we called the Spagetto. One of the largest woolen processing mills was built in the late 1890s and early 1900s. Labor to fill the employment needs was originally from the owner's home country, England. As the mill expanded, additional labor was required, and our town experienced an influx of Central Europeans and Italians. The mill owners built company housing, and while I was growing up through high school, it was like a miniature United Nations. Surprisingly, we all got along well, and visiting friends' homes was an education in itself. The hospitality and food are something I will never forget. Stunad is Italian for someone who is out of tune, dazed, or simply clueless...another favorite was minchia, meaning WTF, surprise, appreciation, or when something goes wrong. Not to be used in 'polite' company...Cazzo is the masculine form... And as a side note, it is zero degrees F this morning, Saturday will be even colder, and Sunday to Monday will bring a significant snowstorm. I've got my largest Tropical shirts out, large enough to go over my winter jacket. Just to remind one and all spring, your fall, is coming!!!

Finished reading this last night and it is a powerful short story of unexpected consequences...quite frankly, I could see this short story expanding!!!

When I am reincarnated, I'm joining this class!!! This short story has legs and can we have more please and thanks!!

College is winding down quickly for the boys, unless they decide to go on to graduate courses... A tad passive/aggressive here in the following comment “Speaking of that, which of your clothes do you want me to wear?” “It doesn’t make any difference, since whatever you wear, I’ll just wear the same thing once you’ve changed out of it. I’ll just wear what I wore today during the ride to and from the dog park and then we’ll both change after we get back to the house.” “If you don’t mind doing it that way, then we’ll do the same thing every Tuesday and Thursday for the rest of the semester.” “As long as you don’t get any dog shit on my clothes while you’re wearing them.” And was it really necessary to say that? If it was said in jest, fine...if not, it was pretty rude...just sayin... It sounds like the boys stumbled upon some pretty valuable cards, and it was an interesting conversation on ethics in terms of possibly selling prior to the auction... Does the card-grading company know that an employee is reaching out to a customer, regarding a private sale, to me it sounds unethical on this employee's part if the company policy is contrary to this sort of behavior...

One has to wonder if those beasts are running amok on the other side of the portal that seems to be no longer...
