Behind him entered a man in a pinstripe suit so sharp it seemed to cut the stale air. He carried a calfskin briefcase and an aura of expensive, unassailable authority that made the room feel even smaller. And behind the solicitor walked Kieran’s father. Mr. Varys looked exactly as he always had: a study in controlled grey. Grey suit, perfectly pressed. Grey hair, perfectly trimmed. Grey eyes, cold and assessing. He entered the interview room as if inspecting a particularly unsavoury public toilet. His sneer of distaste took in the bolted table, the stained walls, the recording equipment, and finally, his son. He didn't look at Kieran. He looked at the space Kieran occupied, as if he were an unfortunate stain on the scene. If Ben is paying Sterling, why was Kieran's father there??? He does.
