G'day y'all. The second of the main rain bands from TS Elsa is passing over. We were roused just before 5:30am when the first heavy rain band arrived by a National Weather Service text blast that we were under a tornado warning until 6am. Fortunately nothing came of that other than getting us all out of bed. Normally the pup and I get up at 4:30 but today we were having a bit of a lie in since it was raining heavily. Mum however, doesn't normally get up until 6:30 so she's had an early start. The worst of the storm should have passed by in the next hour with just remnant showers before clearing later.
Took mum to see her GP this morning for her 6-month checkup. She's in very good health though it seems she's got a bit of a uti. Waiting on sensitivity testing results to know which antibiotic is needed.
Next week it's a visit with the cardiologist for an annual stress test and 6-month checkup.
I remember when this first came out. My son and I were fans. Only live concert I ever attended, yes, I led a very sheltered youth, was when my son, his mother and I went to see him perform in Camden, NJ.
Something caused Abe to think his parents wouldn't understand or approve. I didn't tell my mum until I was 50 because when I was younger she had very strong views about homosexuality. Ultimately when the time came it was traumatic for me but she was accepting and supportive. When I told her of my fears she explained that she had learned quite a bit as she got older and her views changed, then too, I was her son and she loved me.
It was a lovely day here, comfortable temp and humidity both. Very pleasant after warm and humid weather. Because of the change I spent the majority of the last 24 hours medicated for pain and in a dark quiet place.
Here if you could catch a spot in the breeze but out of the sun it was pleasant. In truth, while it's very humid it's not as hot as it was back in PA so as I told mum it was less oppressive.
