Hi. We've one more type to bake tomorrow. I call them "junk" cookies but their actually called Jubilee Jumbles. It's the batch that would put the last odds and ends in. Last year we used dried cranberries, orange and pecans. This year we have leftover shredded coconut, orange zest, pineapple and pecans. The basic recipe is a soft buttermilk sugar cookie.

We passed my birth year yesterday before I could make mention of it.

G'day y'all. Another bright and chilly day is dawning. It's just a bit above freezing just like yesterday. Seems we're on a slight roller coaster. Temps drop below "normal" for a day or two, then warm to said normal for a day or two before rising above normal for a couple days before repeating the cycle. Mum and I are almost finished baking cookies. We should be done tomorrow or Friday. This morning I'll take advantage of the weather to make the last couple batches of peanut brittle. My son and dil had been thinking of coming to visit between Christmas and New Years but last night we talked with Jon and asked them to stay in PA. We would really like to see them. I saw them in Oct but mum hasn't seen them in over a year. With COVID we just don't think it's safe for any of us for them to travel here.
