  1. He can't, the border's closed. The Emperor of Texas and the Universe for Life has decreed Canadians persona non grata subject to nuking until they submit to his ultimate rule. I know it's unfair but doing your own laundry is one of the sacrifices you must make.
  2. I don't think I've had Salisbury steak since I was a young lad in school. Not something Mum would make. She did make Swiss steak every so often.
  3. Why did you need to get rid of Cookies blanket? Oh, and ... Hi bro.
  4. We had Thanksgiving leftovers.
  5. The morning after a great night ...
  6. Had to read that twice. First time I read "in my drive".
  7. Greetings Albert. I'm well enough. My head is achey but tolerable. I am really glad I did the outdoor decorations earlier. The Saturday after Thanksgiving is when I usually hang them but it's cool and damp here this morning. Hope you and Steve are well.
  8. I thought not.
  9. That's a pretty good price plus Bell & Evans air chills their products rather that an ice water bath so they don't take on extra water diluting the flavor.
  10. Well not at one sitting ...
  11. Wool socks.
  12. Anyone else think that criiter is contemplating having that child for lunch?
  13. We finished our meal with warmed pecan pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  14. Hmmm, we had a Carolina Low Country Shrimp 'n Grits. No corn but always tomatoes plus diced onion and celery. Most eateries here about add some form of sausage, typically Andouille but that isn't traditional Low Country. Plus mum doesn't care for sausage particularly one with spiciness. Including sausage is more a Gulf Coast preparation. In New Orleans Tasso ham is a common addition as well. One I like. It adds a bit of smokiness to the flavor. May I ask what makes it Chesapeake Shrimp and Grits, preparation or ingredients?
  15. Thanks. I thought as much too from the lintel but still remain curious as to the why of it. I like this as it is. It brings attention to the window as it is. Including more of the lintel brings focus to the window as it was. Both are laudable but is one better than the other? Have you considered retaking the photo in landscape? Does it actually make for a better photo? You know that once you've taken that perfect photo you'll achieve something no one else ever has but then what'll ye do lad?
  16. My reference seemed to fit today's circumstances. In the play Mame life has taken a sudden downturn for Auntie Mame and her household with the 1929 Wall Street Crash and the loss of her fortune. In 1929 the world was turned on its head with the start of the Great Depression. In 2020 its the COVID-19 Pandemic. I like the Irish Little Christmas too.
  17. I'm not Gary but I like it. There's a lot to absorb and appreciate. An example being the change in construction material from brick to stone. Which was original? I would guess the stone as the brick appears to be fill in but why? Was there a larger opening originally or was a repair needed? So what is it about the photo that makes you less than happy?
  18. A good foot massage.
  19. I hope you're well again soon 'cause your nurse appears worn out.
  20. As Aunti Mame said ... "We need a little Christmas now ...". The outside decorations are up and lit. The tree is up and has lights, Mum will hang decorations this weekend. Tomorrow I'll put up and decorate the tree in my room.
  21. He's working on developing his Napoleonic physique ...
  22. G'day y'all. We're having having a bit of a thunderstorm. It's warm and muggy, 67/19° with 100% humidity. In a normal year we would be going into Charleston for the day but we went last week to avoid any crowds. I'm glas we did the weather was much nicer and there were vey few folks about. I'll finish the outdoor decorations by hanging wreaths. We turned the lights on last evening. It was pretty and felt festive. I'll set up the tree today and mum work at hanging the ornaments over the weekend. When that's done I'll set up the Christmas village under the tree. The village/yard has been a tradition in Mum's family since she was a small child. My grandfather loved Christmas. For my grandmother it was bitter sweet. Her mother died about a week before Christmas when Grandma was a young teen. Her father felt he couldn't care for his large family so the children were spread out to various aunts and uncles. So Christmas always reminded Grandma of that sad time but it also brought her own mother and happy memories to mind every year.
  23. It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a few sibling squabbles.
  24. Anyone else notice Gary manged to get most of his flock to appear in comments this morning?
  25. To those celebrating ... HAPPY THANKSGIVING! To the others of you ... BLESSED BE!
