I'm a bit late with my comment, I was struggling with a migraine when the chapter posted. Reading it was a positive that day so thanks.
Sawyer seems to be accepting the consequences of being bitten rather well. Those scars being an exception, though they seem to be fading fast as he continues to heal. I wonder if that has so ething to do with how well the first shift goes. I doubt the others bitten had any idea what was to happen and were traumatized by both the attack and the subsequent shift. Might it be possible their disbelief fought a smooth transition? Also, Sawyer has a mate, someone to tie him to the here and now. I am curious to learn how you handle the shift for Sawyer because we know it will happen and he will survive, though Fergus may not. I say he'll survive because even you aren't twisted enough to have him die ... if only to avoid the same fate as Fergus at the hands of your readers.
I think it a foreshadow that Jimmy briefly considers the idea of challenging Fergus for leadership. I understand his lack of interest in leading and fear of losing but Jimmy forgets he is no longer alone ... he has a mate to strengthen and support him. Then too maybe it will be Sawyer who challenges for leadership of the Pack.
More please ...
