Hi Miss Caz. Congrats on escaping the house and family ... er, uhm, I mean gaining meaningful employment.

I envy you a bit. No space to really garden her at mum's. I did plant some onions along with Royal Oak leaf and a variety of minature red romaine lettuces. It hasn't been very successful. The soil here is very sandy mixed with clay so the onions haven't done much more than grow into very slender six inch shoots. The lettuces were coming along nicely until the guy came to wash the house. Wherever the solution he used splattered onto the oak leaf it caused the leaves to brown and die off. The centers are growing out again but the weather has become hot so I think it will "bolt" before I get much from them. The romaine heads were just beginning to form compact heads when the heat arrived causing the plants to begin to bolt. That is until two nights ago when the deer came through and nipped the tips out of them. Damned creatures also ate the buds off two-thirds of the daylilies. Came back the next night to get the rest. Despite this stunning lack of success I'll try again next year. I plan however to plant in a container garden where I can control the soil quailty and moisture. The neighbors on both sides use them for tomatoes and peppers and collect a nice season long harvest.

Hmmm, how to best word this ... You've really got to read this latest Headstall tale. Seriously, I don't want to give anything away but this is classic Headstall with a twist. The story is told from the viewpoint of one person, Chase. You get to watch as he grows and develops into the man he was meant to be. That's all I'm going to say except, the overwhelming amount of reader comments and discussion, some quite impassioned, is an indication of just how captivating this story is.

Well I'll be ... wasn't sure you could or even if you intended to but you wrote another tale of redeeming love. You really are a hopeless ... no make that a hopefilled romantic. I'd like to see an epilogue/or a short one off but not just yet. Let the dust settle a bit first and then tell us how they're doing.
