Greetings Albert. Doin' well enough thanks. I saw from your earlier response to Page that you and Steve are well. I'm glad. Now I'm off to do more prep for the trip home.

G'day y'all. It's warm. When the pup and I got out of bed at 5am it was 81/27° with 94% humidity making it feel like 92/33°. The sun wasn't even up. Needless to say it's forecast to get hotter with possible t'storms.

I have a cd done by a group that performed at the renfaire a couple years ago. They performed "White Rabbit" on Middle Eastern instruments. Sounds very much like a period piece.

It's worse this morning, 82/28° with 94% humidity so it feels like 93/34°. Forecast is for heat index of 104/40°. The pup and I are leaving Wednesday afternoon to head back to PA. After an overnight in NC we should be home Thursday mid-day.

👋 I'm ready to be done with SC weather. Thistle doesn't like the humidity. He just slowly meanders on our walk and I only take him the 3/4 mile around mum's neighborhood.

It's 88/31° but with 77% humidity it feels like 104/40°.

Stick to your guns Marine ... until the guy is gone the Davenport Collection can be sent on temporary loan to one or two East Coast museums. When news of the how and why gets around CAMALA may find themselves scrambling to keep other loaned works. Great chapter.

Well shite. I'd hoped it would be a complete shift but those tend to only happen in fairytales and you don't write fairytales. Nicely done nonetheless.

I can commiserate. In 1985 I bought a brand new Toyota 4Runner. It had a a 5-speed manual transmission. I'd never driven stick. Learned to on the test drive. Only problem was that when I was ready to leave the dealer the car was parked on an incline. I don't know how many times I stalled before the manager came out and sent the cute young salesman off to help another customer. He got in the passenger seat calmed me down and got me on my way. I headed straight to my parent's house picked up my kid sister, she'd been driving stick from the time she got her license 3 years earlier and we spent the next couple of hours driving all around up and down hills, etc. By the time we were done I'd put over a hundred miles on the odometer and never had another problem.

It really did seem like the day was drawn from CJ's playbook. Casita Davenport. So Chipper has a place to stay in LA and we learn how Bryce and Zion get introduced. Really great chapter.

Hmmm, I'd say the girlfriend was insecure, also, how trustworthy is an untrusting soul. Does she truly have so little trust in him or was she looking for an excuse to end things? I think like the teacup that relationship is cracked beyond repair.

A fairy tale, sort of, if a little creepy but then fairy tales often are ... I know I frequently accuse you of being a hopeless romantic, something you readily plead guilty to ... but sometimes the happily everafter ending of a fairy tale is just the thing. You've taken an occasionally stale trope and made it fresh and interesting. Is there more to their story or do we only get a brief glimpse into their world? Either way this was well done. Then it would have been more surprising had it not been. Kudos and thanks.
