  1. Social distancing be damned ...
  2. At that height it would require you stack two chairs and a footstool ... the footstool goes betwixt the two chairs not on the bottom.
  3. We were fortunate and the potentially severe weather forecast did not materialize. We had some thunder but nothing beyond moderate. The more serious weather passed by to our south where Charleston was under a tornado watch. Though they too seem to have been spared. The worst storm is the one rumbling about in my head. It aches and heavy foreboding clouds of misery are building on my mental horizon. No lightening strikes of agony but the potential has knocked the wind from my sails and left me adrift in the doldrums. My mood is by times drear interspersed with bursts of crankiness. The pup and I have retreated to my room for quiet and to spare mum's feelings. I am engaging in a round of self-pity ... OOOOOoohhhh woooooooeee is MMMMMMEEEEEEEE. Now if only the lad who blessed my last night's dreams would deign to visit in person but to hold my hand and caress my brow.
  4. Don't shake it too hard or words could become jumbled and start falling out your ears.
  5. Relatively more or relatively less ... or ... more or less than your least sane relative, WQ's excluded, we already know their mental status.
  6. Maybe those of us getting rain should fill this cup and return it to you. Here the day started a bit chilly but with warm bright sunshine. It became overcast just past noon and started raining about 2:30. The forecast is for several different features to pass through between now and tomorrow morning. Each with successively more severe storms culminating in the potential of very severe winds and tornadic activity during the wee hours of the night. This is the thing I hate about Spring here at Mum's the extreme storms.
  7. It's still lovely.
  8. I would try blanching them in lightly salted water first and then blotting them very well before making the roll ups. That should make them more limber and also release some excess moisture.
  9. You just like the "dirty" parts of the job ...
  10. Can you sub zucchini slices for the pasta?
  11. It was. I followed a traditional lasagna recipe substituting Alfredo for the tomato sauce and fresh shrimp and scallops for the ground beef/sausage. And I only made a half recipe.
  12. It does. I used Alfredo sauce.
  13. It is expected that the governor here in SC is going to announce on Monday that on Tuesday he will be reopening the state's beaches as well as furniture, jewelry and clothing stores. He reopened the public boat launches this past Thursday.
  14. Homemade seafood lasagna with romaine and cherry tomato salad.
  15. Whilst snacking on wasabi green peas. You know we're gonna get cranky face responses.
  16. Thanks. I guessed you were thinking of the ladies when you included the rose so I gave that to Mum.
  17. The shapes and textures are wonderful in b&w ... probably more so than in color.
  18. Perhaps we'll learn to eat more like our forebears. Less meat and less food on the plate overall. Perhaps one of the outcomes of the pandemic will be an overall reduction in obesity. Soon folks will be out foraging for fungus or fishing or eating veggies ...
  19. Write as you would like it to be ... if we do things correctly civilization will survive if somewhat altered/chastened ... if not Mother Nature may take her vengance for all the nastiness we've inflicted upon her.
  20. Let us hope that come September life has gained enough of a return to normalcy that some form of the housewarming could actually occur. Far too many of the casualties of war do not die in the war zone but rather on the battlefields in their heads and hearts. Linc is a good guy. Brad has a plan and he's gonna make it happen ...
  21. And then there's the drooling and scratching ...
  22. Yeah but the tire shine really makes his paws look spiffy
  23. Greetings Albert. It has not been a bad day. I accomplished a few chores this morning. Took the pup to k9 kamp, went through the carwash, stopped for groceries, took mum for an outing to a nearby nursery to select a couple new hostas and went by the Post Office to mail a couple things for mum. Now I'm just chillin' to allow the migraine to ease. Tonight is pizza night. We'll place a take out order in support of a local pizzeria. Hope you and Steve are well. Is your wrist any better?
  24. Thistle had a bath after his time at k9 kamp ... he doesn't sparkle but is so soft and silky.
  25. A true lament.
