I have eaten lace cookies in the past and enjoyed them though they were not hazelnut. I may give these a try as my mum is fond of hazelnuts.

I'll have to give the soup a try but like @Page Scrawler I'll opt for smoked paparika. Mum is not a fan of sausage or bacon so a soup with both is a bit too much for her.

I have a fondness for molasses cookies. Mum and I begin our annual cookie baking tomorrow. In years past it was a marathon five days of baking and when we were finished there were dozens and dozens of cookies. Thirty plus kinds. Now we spread the baking out over two weeks and bake fewer kinds. Still there is an abundance to be shared with family and friends.
