Greetings Albert. I'm doing okay thank you. Been packing and prepping for the trip tomorrow. We'll leave late morning and drive to NC, about halfway. Then finish the trip on Saturday. Mum is ready, she's tired of the cold.
I have never see a snowy owl but I remember the great horned owl that ghosted out of the big maple at the back of my yard last summer. It was twilight when this large pale shape passed overhead. It was eery to see something so large move with such silent grace.
G'day y'all. It's wet and dreary, not particularly cold (50/10°) yet. The pup and I decided against a walk this morning. No point in getting wet. He has a 9am grooming appointment. I have his winter coat cut shorter to accomodate the warmer weather in SC. I feel a little guilty since they have predicted record setting cold for tomorrow. A couple weeks ago when the weather turned colder than usual I bought him a fleece pullover. His winter coat is at Mum's. I left it there because he doesn't usually need it before we head south. He only needs it when we come north to visit family at the holidays.
Glad Chipper and Bliss came to an amiable agreement. Not at all surprised they held different thoughts on the relationship.
The visions I have in my head of his performance are intensely entertaining. I love watching Latin dance.
So this morning I cleared away all the frost killed flowers and foliage and added them to the compost bin. Then I ran the lawnmower over the lawn to crop the grass down for winter. Since I have a mower that mulches I was able to chop the fallen leaves in with the grass clippings. No need to rake them. The outside of the house is prepped for winter.
Today is likely to be the last pleasant day for a long while. It's forecast to reach near 60/15° and be mostly sunny. Tonight a cold front is due with rain and potential snow mixed in for the morning followed by record cold for this time of year.
